I’m sure she is a liberal and didn’t mean anything racial. But honest conversation to address problems and develop solutions is actually not allowed in the liberal culture.
Liberals have to find victims and oppressors. They find ways to lower standards for victims and punish oppressors. The outcomes make no difference as long as feelings are addressed in the “actions” that are supposed to solve the problem.

Spot on! The liberal goal is NOT to solve problems. It is to divide the peasants into victims and oppressors. Any proposed solution will be to address feelings. That might take the form of lowering standards or punishing the labelled oppressors.

It’s been this way for many decades. I think became high after the Johnson presidency.
Why does “brown” not deserve a capital letter? Is there a special privilege inherent in black that causes it to deserve a capital letter all its own? This is unfair and racist.
That begs the question whether white liberals want to solve “the problem”.
Still, if anyone, regardless of race or ethnicity or political party or anything else is unable to make fairly routine anodyne statements without being accused, then there is no hope for public education.
Dysfunctional families are a huge problem regardless of race. As a point of fact, it was Democrat policies and the underlying assumptions that caused this in the first place.
Little wonder they don’t want anyone talking about it. The first mistake is apologizing. In this instance there isn’t anything to apologize for. Secondly, it won’t do any good.
Leftism at its core is a religion. A “religion” with no forgiveness and no redemption.
