It was crowded in 2016 when people still thought Trump was not serious about running. Jeb was the anointed (R). It will not be as crowded in 2024 as it was back then.

IMO Trump won’t have to do anything because of this scenario:

I'm in flyover country in Pennsyltucky. Many of the Trump flags still fly, and the ones that aren't flying now are sitting ready on standby.Same here. Driving up through the farm and ranch lands in the Foothills of California the farmers and ranchers are still flying their Trump flags from 2020.
