Ared wave that some had forecast for Washington’s midterm elections might turn out looking more like a ripple, according to a new Crosscut/Elway poll.
Key points:
1. The statewide poll of registered voters has Democrats holding a 19-point lead – 51 to 32 – in the generic ballot for Congress. A similar question for the Legislature showed 54% of those polled planned to vote for Democrats while 34% favored Republicans.
2. Those numbers show Democrats are even more popular in Washington state than they were before the previous congressional election in 2020, according to the results of a similar Crosscut/Elway poll fielded in late December 2019.
3. The poll also showed 53% support for reelecting legendary U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (left), D-Washington, with 33% supporting GOP challenger Tiffany Smiley (right) and 15% undecided.
4. Overall, 66% of those polled are confident in Washington’s mail-voting system, with 52% “very confident.”
5. The July poll gives voice to a sour mood, with Biden drawing only a 31% favorable rating. Inslee hovered near his lowest-ever favorable rating, with 40% rating the governor “good” or “excellent.”
The recent Crosscut/Elway Poll was conducted between July 7 and July 11, with a mix of landline, cell phone and online survey questions. It has a 4.5% margin of error at the 95% confidence level. In other words, if the survey had been run 100 times, the results would be within 4.5 percentage points of these results in at least 95 of those scenarios.
I’m glad I left that dumpster fire state for good in 1999
I remember a long-ago era in which WA was a swing state. Once the Cali trash invaded and occupied it in the late 1980s, things were never the same again.
So… “Frankis4Liberty,” the thrice-banned propagandist from Cali, is back, I see.
the only thing that will wash up hopefully is a tsumani
Or anywhere else. If 2020 does not get fixed there is no 2022 or 2024.
54% of those polled planned to vote for Democrats
Biden has people that have the same mind set as he does crazy.
Interesting.
Honda, Mercedes, and Hyundai seem so do pretty well with their powertrain and assembly plants in Alabama.
Since the Dino Rossi election for sure. Add to that this state is full blue f*cktard. We’re to the left of Canada, which is saying something.
Legendarily stupid
The majority of MAGA voters are east of Cascades. Every community on the west side has pockets of conservatives but the bulk of the leftists live in King, Peirce, Thurston and Snohomish counties. Thats 4 counties out of 39

So does Airbus, Austal, and a ton of others. It’s not like we have a city full of rocket scientists, though. Oh wait, yes we do!

Murray is a complete and total imbecile. For a politician to say that about an entire state’s population is ridiculous.
Can you even count?
In your doomer scenario of “only” “20” seats (A bet that I’m going to win by the way) would still result in a 231 GOP majority. (The GOP has 211 already.)
You do realize that right?
That’s not a “bare majority” by any stretch of the imagination.
That’s better than anything the GOP had from 94-04.
Virtually every political handicapping site (including the very liberal) has the GOP in the 240+ range, yet for some reason you think you are smarter than every political expert out there.
I find your doom and hubris amusing.
You’ve already had to swallow claim chowder once. So your political IQ and track record doesn’t have a very good history.
I agree with you and hope you win the bet :-)
Awwww poor babies can’t handle things called “facts” and “reality”
Patty Murray is one of the stupidest women walking the planet.
