Good info, thanks Cathi.

The HIMARS (and the Harpoons) seem to be the best hope that NATO has for turning things around in Ukraine. The HIMARS have seemed effective so far.

If Russia is able to start taking them down, then that’s going to be a real problem for NATO/Ukraine.

Both China and Russia are demographically dying countries. That is to say, their populations are aging and not enough in the younger generations to support them. China especially is at risk as the results of their "one child" policy has come to roost.

That is just the beginning of their problems.

Sounds more like projecting globalist dreams than facts.

Tony Blair was the guy who, along with George W. Bush, thought it was a great idea to invade Iraq and turn the whole region upside down.

Blair and Bush should be spending their remaining days quietly volunteering at veterans hospitals. Both men are failures and should not be trusted on any topic.

What is incredible is they are a superpower largely because of the USA, “our” insane interest in outsourcing factories and jobs to China. Wal-mart leading the pack.

I was going to say it accelerated in the 90s but data say otherwise. Ir really accelerated under good old George Bush the quintessential neocon in the 2000s and then continued to accelerate under Obama.

Trump actually put a dent in their imports with his tariffs and Biden is working hard to resume the trend.

Agreed on Bush and Blair. Both are losers.

A stopped clock can be right twice a day, however. And I think Blair may be right on this subject.

At least he may be right if the West and its “elites” don’t get their act together.

Both China and Russia are demographically dying countries...

And we are a socially dying country. Entire cities have become crime infested no-mans-lands. Large swaths of the population are dependent on government handouts and freebies. Our political class is a repository of white collar criminals, somewhere between 30 and 50 million foreign nationals illegally reside here, sucking the system dry. Yes, China and Russia have problems, but our problems are terminal.

Things definitely accelerated under Young Bush. I lived in an area that was devastated by job losses in the early 2000’s. Total destruction. Which then led to opioid crisis and the fallout. Which still goes on today.

Brandon is just doing what his masters want. Trump tried to change things for the good, but the elites don’t want to help the plebs.

I love the West and hate to see what it has become.

Whistling past the graveyard isn’t going to do anyone any good. Things are in bad shape and getting worse.

What Blair omits, as another poster pointed out, is that HE and people like him are the reason we are in this mess.

True. But I don’t blame Walmart very much. At one time they actually had a made-in-America policy, and they bragged about it. But the globalists forced their hand. If they didn’t start selling cheaper imported stuff, they’d be run out of business by those companies that did.

I suppose it’s fair to give Walmart some criticism. But the true culprits are all in DC. As you noted, Trump tried to reverse this. And so he had to be pushed aside.

Yes it was. And that weakness has emboldened our adversaries.

If you’re Putin or Xi and you see what happened in Afghanistan, what would you think?

I would not want to be Taiwan right now.

NATO better hope that their super weapons do the trick in Ukraine. If not, another embarrassment is on the way.

Just a layman’s observation but it ‘s obvious China is replacing Russia as the Wests primary adversary. China can use Russia and Iran as pawns against us.

“The HIMARS (and the Harpoons) seem to be the best hope that NATO has for turning things around in Ukraine.”

Russia MOD reported this morning:

💥 Air-launched high-precision long-range missiles in one of the buildings of an industrial enterprise in the city of Odessa destroyed a storage warehouse for Harpoon anti-ship missiles transferred to Ukraine by NATO countries.

💥In the area of the settlement of Krasnoarmeysk of the Donetsk People’s Republic , a launcher and a transport-loading vehicle of a US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system were destroyed by high-precision ground-based weapons .

I don’t know if Ukraine is just being paranoid or if they are right that “something” is coming. Right after the Russian attack on Vinnista the Pentagon instructed all Americans to leave Ukraine and closed their Kiev and Odessa embassies.

Some Ukrainian mayors also have been leaving. Apparently Ukraine is interpreting the Vinnista attack on the Ukrainian Air Force HQ as “attacks on the decision makers” that Russia had previously warned them would happen if they continued to escalate and the Pentagon (and Ukraine) feels these areas are no longer safe.

Russia, or what ever they call themselves after this (uhm USSR), will emerge much more powerful from this. China also gains. Russia (its successor state CCCP) and China reform the Comintern.

Russia is a totalitarian communist regime? That’s news. Actually, it’s a multiparty system where the dominant party holds 85% approval from the general population, something that can never happen in the fragmented, woke countries of the west. And coming fresh off a ballot trafficked couple d’état how is the US not living in a dictatorship presently?

With the crop of the West’s leaders, is it any wonder?

True...Europe in particular seems incapable of rational behavior which doesn't bode well for its future.
