Mail-In ballots won't begin to be counted until Thursday morning Baltimore City mail-in ballots.jpeg Photo by: Abby Isaacs By: Amanda EngelPosted at 3:50 PM, Jul 15, 2022 and last updated 3:50 PM, Jul 15, 2022 Primary election results could be delayed as late as early August in some races, according to the State Board of Elections.

That's because more than 500,000 voters in Maryland have requested a mail-in ballot for Tuesday's primary election.

A much higher number than 42,324 that were sent out in the 2018 gubernatorial primary.

And despite the fact that more than 165,000 ballots have already been received by boards of elections across the state, election workers can't start counting those ballots until Thursday, July 21st at 10am.

The number of people who have requested ballots this year, represents nearly 13.4% of all eligible voters across the state. And in the last gubernatorial primary, only 24.25% of eligible voters cast any kind of ballot.

It takes time to make sure the "right person" wins.

The gov has a dog in this fight, one that is under the others.
So a perfectly good, responsible piece of legislation was vetoed because it did not include the governor’s extraneous priorities.

It's up to the state legislatures to not allow this.

Allowing votes to be counted after Election Day lets the enemy know how far they are behind in the count and subsequently how many cheat-by-mail-in ballots must be produced to secure a win.

This is why it is so important to purge as many RINOs in the state legislatures as possible and replace them with MAGA people.

This is the only way we get our country back. I pray to God that RINOs are being ousted in the primaries this summer in the state governments. I haven't seen any articles about it, so I don't know if it is actually happening.

This crap is not elections anymore. Elections don’t take weeks and months because everyone wants a different way to vote. 500,000 are you kidding?

On purpose I am sure so they can screw around with results.

There is only one way to stop these people.

Hogan’s chosen candidate, Kelly Shultz has zero name recognition. I follow Maryland politics more than the average guy and never heard of her till she filed.

Dan Cox, her main competition is a Constitutional attorney and state delegate. Again, not a ton of recognition but he’s a scrapper who knows how to fight for the constitution he took an oath to defend. Shultz is campaigning on how dangerous it is to follow that oath.

Democrats are really good at screwing things up! None of them ever questioned how they would count all of these mail in ballots when they passed this stupid law. To them it just felt good and they didn’t care what problems it caused.

Stupidity is clearly a democrat trait.

That’s what you get with mail-in ballots if you’re going to have a real/fair counting.

To me, this is better than having 500,000 mail-in votes “counted” by tomorrow afternoon, then I’d KNOW they were fraudulent.

This is a primary. Name recognition is not important. What is important is to get your base out to vote!

He or she will get the name recognition after the primary when the media begins focusing on the race in earnest.

12 years ago the presumed winner of the Maine gubernatorial primary came in 4th in a seven way race. The winner went on to win the governorship, Paul LePage.

That scraping sound you hear is the State Board of Elections dragging their butts in such a hurry to “verify” the election results so they come out “right”.

“Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything.” - a quote often ascribed to Josef Stalin, some believe wrongly, but is entirely applicable here.

Authoritarian regimes are the same everywhere.

Back in the day, elections were held and decided in public. Men would gather in a large space and those who wanted Jones would stand on one side and those who wanted Smith on the other. People from both sides would count heads and voila, the winner was announced.

When that method became impractical, ballots for the different candidates/parties were different colors and cast in ballet boxes with transparent sides. This insured voter honesty, if he exchanged his vote for a shot of whisky a watcher could make sure he followed through.

To get around this, the secret ballot was established. Now no one knew the outcome until the votes were actually counted—as time progressed, not counted where they were cast, but in some central location.

We have now arrived at he point where to make voting as effort-free as possible for the elector, ballots are mailed out to everyone living or dead, mailed in, or collected by harvesters and counted far away from watching eyes. This is called ‘progress’

I call BS on so many mailin being requested.

Basically, the DNC once again cobbled together a list of corpses, illegal aliens, etc onto a list and shoved it under the table of the dude who “approves” the ballot mail outs.

And, regardless of “requests” twice as many ballots will be counted as are registered voters in critical districts. That is exactly what was done in Detroit. This will be a rerun of 2020.

Hi.

Mail in ballots are a recipe for fraud.

Only absentee balloting should be used.
