White House adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci and Health & Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra are warning of the latest COVID-19 variant, but are declining to specify key facts about the newest iteration of the virus, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., told Fox News on Tuesday.
Paul, an ophthalmologist, told "Jesse Watters Primetime" that amid warnings and renewed pressure on Americans to submit to another round of injections, the administration is noticeably mum on the severity of the new variant, or other key characteristics like transmissibility and potential for hospitalization.
In recent remarks, Fauci called for the virus to still be "taken seriously" and warned Americans who want to put the microbe "behind us" must realize it is not gone yet.
In response, Paul said Fauci and others also wrongly push for Americans to be injected for the fourth or fifth time with the same serum formulation used to combat the original Alpha strain of coronavirus.
"How come the flu vaccine changes every year and they're not willing to change this vaccine?" he said. "Now, you might have me with an argument. I'll listen to you if you tell me, 'We've got a new vaccine that actually has something to do with the current virus,'" he said.
"Omicron itself was about 90% less likely to put you in the hospital than the first variant," he added. "So if no one's telling you any information, how can you make any judgment other than the emotionalism and the sensationalism of the government?"
Paul said Americans should "discount" what Fauci, Becerra and others are warning about because they refuse to deal in empirical terms in deference to "sensationalism."

We have about 4 people out with it where I work. None are particularly sick from what I have been told.
It is so over but Fauci just loves his time in the limelight, and can’t let go. Poor, poor little man.
Several,people,around us got sick, with some variant, not sure which, but all were fine. They suffered a bit, but nothing major. Mostly just tired as all get out, no energy, slight sore throat, but lots of Nasal draining g I guess.

Illinois was one of the last states to drop the mask mandate. I said back then that after the midterms Gov. Fatso will wave his hand and demand everybody to mask up again. I won’t be surprised when it happens.
Things that make you go hmmm: My girls recently got back from a European tour. All travelers had to be “boosted” to go and half of them tested positive upon their return. It seemed more like jet lag and a cold than anything. After a day or two recovering from no sleep, excitement, activity and the time change, they were fine. We’d all had the real thing in 2020. The unboosted rest of the family just continued on, we were in close contact and the girls didn’t quarantine or isolate from us and nobody had any symptoms.

They knew a month after the roll out that the vaccine had waning efficacy or vaccine failure. The public didn’t know until a year later.

Speaking during remarks to a J.P. Morgan healthcare conference this week, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla openly stated current vaccines the company developed for Wuhan coronavirus offer “limited, if any” protection against contracting current variants of the disease. He then encouraged booster shots.
The statement from Bourla comes as the Biden administration continues to justify vaccine mandates for federal workers, contractors and private businesses. The Supreme Court heard arguments about President Biden’s mandates for private companies and medical workers last week. A ruling is expected soon on the constitutionality of the mandates.
A number of people who have pointed out the waning efficacy of Pfizer’s vaccines, which Bourla touted last year as being “100 percent” effective against contracting or transmitting the virus, have been banned by social media companies.

Omicron Makes Biden’s Vaccine Mandates Obsolete!
“There is no evidence so far that vaccines are reducing infections from the fast-spreading variant. ... there have been mass Omicron outbreaks in highly vaccinated populations, scientists are highly uncertain the existing vaccines can stop it from spreading. ... there should be sufficient evidence that the vaccine is efficacious in preventing serious infection and/or transmission.” For Omicron, there is as yet no such evidence. ...
The little data we have suggest the opposite. One preprint study found that after 30 days the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines no longer had any statistically significant positive effect against Omicron infection, and after 90 days, their effect went negative—i.e., vaccinated people were more susceptible to Omicron infection. Confirming this negative efficacy finding, data from Denmark and the Canadian province of Ontario indicate that vaccinated people have higher rates of Omicron infection than unvaccinated people.
We didnt get covid 19, but got what I beleive was omicron awhile back- it knocked us down for about 7 days- there have been colds going around too which weren’t too bad I guess.
Covid 19,itself was like 99.5% or so survivable, omicron and other variants even more survivable. For us it was like,having maybe a mid-severity flu. I’ve certainly had worse.
Rand needs to put Fauci back on the stand and yell at him some more. I enjoyed that quite a bit!!!!
Hit my aunt’s home while my mom was rehabbing there.
Came in from my “German” cousin, starting with her husband. Then she and my aunt got it, then my 90 yo uncle got it asymptomatic. Also their neighbor/friend/employee, who is there every day. My frail elderly mother, 85, never got it.
BTW, mom had it pre-vax. The others were all vaxed, though most did not get boosts. (More to that story.)
Everyone is fine now.
My oldest friend and family has it now from a cruise last week. We’ll see how she does. They were all vaxed and some boosted.

How many were vaxed, and not vaxed? If only 300 people were unvaxed, your 288 reps a huge percent.
Then you DID get COVID-19.
Variant- I believe- supposedly the original covid strain (or whatever they call it) is no longer around, or very few cases-
