A new poll has found that Democrats and Republicans are neck and neck in the upcoming midterm elections, with Democrats citing gun violence as their number one concern even as the economy continues to tumble.
The Sienna College Research Institute poll, conducted on behalf of the New York Times between July 5 and 7 among 849 registered voters, found the race to control Congress is tight, with voters preferring Democrats to Republicans by just one percentage point, 41%-40%. Nineteen percent of respondents remain undecided.
However, among likely voters, the Times noted that 44% favored Republicans while 43% expressed support for Democrats in congressional races.

nonsense
July 5 and 7 among 849 registered voters
Not much of a sample size and no geographical/political information .... propaganda.
The internals claim it was 30 D, 29 R and 35 I, which only accounts for 94%. The surprising thing is that while 78% of blacks prefer Democrats in control of Congress, only 37% of whites and 41% of Hispanics do. They continue to have the blacks but it looks like they’ve lost the white and Hispanic vote.
On the question of how the country is going, 77% think it’s going in the wrong direction (men 73%, women 79%). That includes 82% whites, 54% blacks, 71% Latinos, and 74% Others.
78 percent of those that WILL VOTE.
If were going by polls, check out this one that just droped: NBC News- The GOP leads by 1 on EDUCATIONAL all swing state. The GOP has NEVER IN HISTORY led. They have barely come within double digits.
We are heading for CW2...
Aussies hate Republicans.
The only thing “shocking” here is that the polly only claimed a 1% D edge.
Must be really bad.
OTOH, Rep -6 is roughly a dead heat.
I am getting the sneaking suspicion that Republican overconfidence in 2022 will end up similar to Democrat overconfidence in 2016.
We may be close but we are not within the margin of fraud.
