I can’t help but point of out the obfuscation here. Using their own numbers (100-200 deaths per day) gives a figure of around 30,000 KIA, and a standard 3:1 gives a 90,000 casualty rate. Am I wrong?
Not to celebrate anyone’s death, but the two sides appear to be close in losses, from this accounting. Also not mentioned are the numbers captured. There have been thousands taken prisoner within the last few weeks.
He’s a student, yes, but he’s not the binge drinking skirt chasing hanging out in the dorms doing gravity bong hits undergrad you’re trying to portray him as. PhD students in Math are the ones doing most of the groundbreaking work in that field, the same for every STEM course, science etc. The same is true even for the humanities. Grad students do the work, their advisors take the credit.
I don’t see 20,000 deaths as being too far fetched. However, I suspect the Ukrainians have lost at least as much. What makes this war untenable is the destruction it is doing to world and US economy (record inflation and food shortages). Millions of innocent people are likely to starve as the US props up this proxy war supporting the military industrial complex.
Ukraine has taken significant losses. Could be 90,000? Yes. Ukraine is hiding their casualty count like RuZZia.
In the Vietnam War, Vietnam took more losses than America. But Vietnam’s goal was to outlast the US. In the end they did.
Same with USSR in Afghanistan. I’m sure more Afghans died than Soviets, but they outlasted the Soviets.
Ukraine’s goal is to kill the RuZZian invaders by the thousands every month. Month after month, year after year and outlast the RuZZians.
I will remind you that the intelligence community was correct in predicting the RuZZian invasion while the RuZZian trolls on FR and many on FR ridiculed them.
If anything, I’m guess the 80,000 intelligence estimate is on the low side.
