AB 1594 would allows individuals, groups, communities, the California attorney general and others to file a civil suit against a gun dealer or manufacturer that sells or produces a firearm that creates an unreasonable risk of harm to public health and safety, mainly assault firearms and other firearms not allowed under state law. The law also bars guns from being marketed to youth.

The American Civil Liberties Union has voiced concern about both pieces of legislation and sent an open letter to the Legislature and Newsom arguing that private rights of action erodes the enforcement power of the state has in enforcing state laws and opens a Pandora’s box of such lawsuits.

Except that’s a violation of federal law which protects gun manufacturers from civil suits.

“Except that’s a violation of federal law which protects gun manufacturers from civil suits.”

You know that...and I know that...yet it will still take a circuitous, expensive trip in front of numerous black-robed J.D.s to have it pronounced DOA.

Based on what I've seen at gun ranges where cops practice, manufacturers should refuse to sell to law enforcement. I'm half joking here.

Is there any more harm he can do?

Actually, plenty.

Like the Dems all over the country. They are on a roll now that they think Trump is bad looking in their show trial and the women are rising up for their “constitutional” “health” “rights” to kill babies by abortions in all the states.

Bad days.

That’s what I was thinking. Totally unconstitutional.

What is it with ugly Marxist democrats and no following the laws of the land?

They should move to a country more suited to their control freak mentality. May I suggest they look into relocating to North Korea, Muslim parts of China to hang with the Uhygurs, communist Venezuela, etc.

Laws like that, of not overturned, could be used to end manufacturing and sales of nearly everything in California.

Time to cut off all LEOs, PDs, security Firms, all State and Federal offices located in California of any form of support, be it sales of firearms, parts, repair, ammo, etc.

There can be no cherry picking of which firearms are subject to the bill, manufactures and suppliers must assume that any firearm can create an unreasonable risk of harm to public health and safety under the bill.

California LEOs can go back to clubs and swords.

If I recall correctly (corrections invited), Mister Newsom is scooping Mrs. Clinton's talking point.

No matter, the courts will take care of this deceitful notion. (I do hope)
