Former President Donald J. Trump categorically announced that Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) will not be receiving his endorsement for U.S. Senate in Missouri.
“You can forget about Vicky Hartzler for Senate from the Great State of Missouri,” Trump began in an emphatic post on Truth Social. “She called me this morning asking for my Endorsement, much as she has on many other occasions.”
He continued:
I was anything but positive in that I don’t think she has what it takes to take on the Radical Left Democrats, together with their partner in the destruction of our Country, the Fake News Media and, of course, the deceptive & foolish RINOs. I was very nice to Vicky on the call, but will NOT BE ENDORSING HER FOR THE SENATE!
Trump’s statement is a major development in Missouri’s Republican primary for the U.S. Senate, with voters hitting the polls in a little over three weeks. All 13 Trump-endorsed U.S. Senate candidates are undefeated in their primary races thus far in the mid-term election cycle, indicating that his refusal to endorse Hartzler could seemingly spell doom for her campaign.
The RealClearPolitics polling average has Hartzler in third place at 18.5 percent, behind both Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, at 22.3 percent, and the leading candidate, former Gov. Eric Greitens (R-MO), at 24.3 percent.
Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is the national chair of Greitens’s campaign, tweeted a screenshot of the 45th president’s Truth Social post.
“President Trump is exactly right. We need tough & courageous conservatives who will NEVER back down in the Senate,” she wrote, adding “

Nope, you are not.
I do not believe he has endorsed in this race, YET.

I suspect he’s talking to the other two privately at this point, and an actual endorsement will likely follow soon. For now, he just announced who he wasn’t endorsing.

Given the context of the article (go to Breitbart) and the fact that President Trump has stated he asked Schmitt twice if he was going to back McConnell and he refused to say, I am pretty sure that President Trump is going to endorse Greitens because Greitens has emphatically stated he will not vote for McConnell for Senate Leader.

Greitens could be another disaster... just too tarnished.
So disgusted by McConnell’s GOP....

Whether or not the spousal abuse charges are true, what Greitens admitted to leading his resigning as governor in disgrace is disqualifying enough.
This race would not even be contested if anyone other than Greitens is the nominee. It would be very much in doubt if he is the nominee and would require a substantial amount of resources being diverted to hold the seat that could be used to flip other more marginal seats. He hardly has a history of being a loyal conservative and just stuck his finger in the air to decide which party to run in and what positions to take.

Is it necessary to announce who you’re not endorsing, in a negative way?
To: George from New England
It’s been so close, he hasn’t dared make an endorsement for fear of tarnishing his endorsement record. It’s become a game or challenge for him. By announcing this non-endorsement, he’ll change the polling and one of the Erics will likely gain more of an advantage which will make the actual endorsement more of a sure thing.
Not a fan of this game he’s playing. He has no problem endorsing a RINO if he thinks that RINO will win. He should just not endorse in certain races if there’s no good choice like PA senate.

I don't see the problem.
It tells you where President Trump is coming from and helps to shape the outcome to one, I assume, that is more acceptable to President Trump's desire to have a Congress that supports him as much as possible.
It will take more and more votes away from that candidate as more and more if his supporters get the message he is not going to endorse him.
This is just President Trump doing his best to shape the election in the best way possible to support his MAGA agenda.

Strange decision to publicly rebuke this woman for her request for an endorsement.
Why create new enemies? Why add fuel to the perception that you have a nasty streak?
Just politely tell the woman "no" and then endorse someone else.

As a Missouri resident, I find it hard to believe that we haven't been able to find one solid candidate. I was leaning toward Hartzler, and then I came across this letter she wrote denouncing Trump and claiming the Jan 6th protest was an attempted coup.
I'm so tired of politicians who are liars and two faced and unreliable. But we never seem to have a choice.
I've never liked Greitens, and am probably looking at Schmitt now.

Probably you're loss if you do.
There's a reason Schmitt refers to Cruz, Hawley, and leaves out Trump when asked if he is going to support McConnell for Majority Leader.

Re: See post #11.
I did see it, right after I posted.
I disagree - obviously.
If Trump publicly dumped on a white male, I would not even notice.
When Trump gratuitously dumps on a woman - everybody notices.

Well, this is why is such a difficult decision. It's not as though I'm expecting a perfect candidate. Just one who isn't going to lie about who they really are. Greitens was an Obama supporter until he saw that Missouri was solid conservative- he switched parties so he would have a chance to win the governor's race. I just don't trust him.
To: Repealthe17thAmendment
If you are a true Missouri voter why rely on a former president who is not even from the state . Vicki got the endorsement from Josh and that should be good enough. Josh has become the voice of conservatives in Missouri.Vote for Vicki like you originally planned to do. I was born and raised in Missouri and have voted in Missouri for the last 45 years.

And Reagan was a Democrat before he was a Republican.
People do change for good reasons sometimes.
