HIV substantially speeds up aging at the cellular level within the first few years after acquisition of the virus, researchers at the University of California (UCLA) report in iScience. These findings underscore the importance of early diagnosis and prompt treatment of HIV. The team observed that during the first two to three years after infection, HIV-positive men’s DNA showed evidence of aging up to five years faster than a comparable group of men who remained HIV negative. Elizabeth Crabb Breen, PhD, a professor emerita at UCLA’s Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology and David Geffen School of Medicine, and her colleagues concluded that initial HIV infection is associated with significant changes in genomic aging, which might explain why people living with HIV experience aging-related illnesses earlier.

As it should be.
So is this one of the reasons HIV genetic material was used in the “jabs?”
8 years ago, I read an HIVplus article, which said HIV ages its infected 14 years. Another article said HIV ages its infected even when treated by antiretrovirals. To read those articles, look under keywords hivaging and hivacceleratedaging.
There’s HIV genetic material in there? Source?
Yawn. And in other news, people get less protein from pretend meat than from real meat, the kind that used to have a face.
Psychoneuroimmunology sounds like a field I would love. Epigenetics.
I wonder what other viruses might do the same thing? I understand HIV is all kinds of bad - I’m glad they can give some help for people who have that disease, however they might have acquired it. But I immediately thought when I saw this article, I wonder how many other viruses might cause premature ageing, maybe more common viruses that more people might acquire. If a doctor could chime in on this, about whether this is possible.
Well, apparently a rather large control group was used in this study of people who were not HIV infected. I imagine many of them had been infected with all manner of viruses, from flu to herpes. And yet, the HIV-infected men showed particularly dramatic changes in their genes’ aging characteristics.
Is that after five years of treatment? Or did they withhold treatment for the sake of the keeping data objective?
"Balanced on the biggest wave,
You race to-wards an early grave".
Further, unlike retroviruses that require cells to be dividing in order to integrate (because they require the nuclear envelope to open/breakdown), HIV is a lentivirus and can integrate into the genome of non-dividing cells. Given all of that, it's not surprising in the least that HIV infection accelerates aging.
Here’s a weird hypothetical idea (but we now live in a weird society). Most people who got HIV are gay men - you do unnatural things to your body, bad things will happen. So, suppose someone with HIV wanted to father a child in spite of their “orientation.” I mean, the left is against traditional families but they love to engineer artificial “families” and they use children to “make a statement.” Could it be that such a father could pass on mutated genes to his child, or does HIV just mess up the cells in the person who has the disease?
HIV can integrate into germline cells, and could theoretically be passed to children that way.
That’s why I always get you guys look like dude walking corpses by the time they are 50.
Walking dead bodies, ...walking empty dead souls.
You mean like this guy:
yeh, his eternal just rewards will be here soon enough.
