OMG....I would die in that kind of heat! Come on up! I almost bought a kiddie pool just to keep my feet cool.
It’s 70 here right now...pretty hot for us. It’s overcast, or it might be smoke from the many, many statewide fires. Cough! Cough! And running eyes are my worst issue.
The Trump rally is just a couple miles from my house. Wish my knees and back issues would have let me go.
Howdy, luvie.
How’s your weekend so far?
It’s been a sauna here but we finally got some rain today!
We’re fairly close to you, Allegra, but it only hit 105 here today. Absolutely brutal!
Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way!
A blessed Fifth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Fourth
Sunday after Pentecost (Orthodox) to all!
Hey there, radu!
It’s been ok though way too hot for my taste. WooHoo that you finally got rain! I hope it was enough to help the crops be saved there! Did you have fun at the museum?
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours...
Hope you had a good day and got in your needed rest.
Momma1 was here with her 5. Momma2 was here with just 4, unless it’s a new group. Momma2 had 6 yesterday.
Glad you had good tours...was the air conditioning doing its job?
Good evening, luvie, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thank you for the hymns.
Hi, Kathy! ((hugs))
Hope you have a lovely and restful Sunday, too!
Enough rain to keep the corn growing? Did the roots just suck it up?
They say we might get real rain next week. I’ll believe it when it RAINS at my house. LOL!
I hear ya on it being way too hot! LOL Yesterday was a nightmare with the temp at 98. The heat index was 108. The air was so wet, you practically drowned when you walked outside.
We got an inch of rain early this morning and the corn looked better when I left for the museum. That’s good because the roots are still working to suck up water. Just need more water! We got .2 of an inch this evening and it’s raining lightly at the moment. Not nearly enough to get us out of the drought situation but at east we got something.
Kinda slow at the museum but traffic was light everywhere the last two days. No one was getting out if they didn’t have to. Still had fun, though, with the people who did show up.
Good evening, SuzyQue, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Stay cool as best you can.
I hope Momma2 was really Momma3. Don’t eeeeeeven like the thought of Momma2 losing 2 babies in a day.
Yes, it was much cooler in the museum today with the thermostat having been knocked down a few degrees yesterday. Yesterday was not fun in there as hot as it was.
ACK! With your humidity, you were WAAAAY hotter than we were. It had to be miserable. No wonder no one wanted to get out! That heat could kill!
Thank the Lord for all that rain. The corn and other crops must have been smiling!
Enough rain to keep it going a little longer. We need a lot more, that’s for sure. Corn needs more water than soybeans, even the hybrid drought-hardy corn.
The drought-hardy soybeans grown around here never cease to amaze me. During dry spells, the plants don’t grow. They just sit and exist on dewfall and any other moisture they can draw from the air. But get a good rainfall and BAM!! A burst of growth. The beans across the road and in the fields along the way to the museum were visibly taller and bushier this morning. More so this afternoon on the way home.
I hope “they” are right about rain for y’all next week. You need it so bad up there. And you need a lot.
Hey there, lightman...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
And a blessed Fifth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Fourth
Sunday after Pentecost (Orthodox).
Yes, the kind of heat we’ve had this week CAN kill. Most of the state was under an excessive heat warning and we haven’t had that for 10 years. I’ve said several times we were overdue for a reeeeeally hot summer and this year is turning out to be just that. Our electric bill that showed up this week reflects it too. OUCH!
The crops do look better today but for how long remains to be seen since there’s little chance for rain the next week. We won’t be quite as hot as this last week but temps will still be in the 90s straight through. Ugh.
Thank you, Kathy.
Our anniversary today, we went to dinner.
37 years with Mrs Mayor, I am a Blessed man
with a beautiful wife, children and grand sons!
