Way to deceptively edit out the “until” condition which is what I see as the necessary predicate to victory - how deceptive of you. It is about what can be expected of from a Canadian who still spends money with the English sovereign on it.

In our Civil War, not yours, many of the generals and officers that started out had to be fired unceremoniously until they found the right people to lead and win. All of the great and grand generals that were leading at the start of the war were pretty much gone by the end. It was Grant and Sherman that won the war.

Grant and Sherman also pushed for harsher measures to win because they didn’t want to drag it out by that point but finish it and get the surrenders more quickly. Burning of Atlanta was a Neccessary evil by that point.

Excellent point.
