The accused Highland Park Fourth of July gunman painted a chilling mural of a smiley-face figure brandishing a rifle on the wall of his mom’s home, The Post learned Wednesday.
The revelation of the creepy image emerged as Robert E. “Bobby” Crimo’s mom, Denise, was spotted looking downcast outside her Highland Park home Wednesday afternoon — just days after her son’s alleged Independence Day slaughter.
The eerie mural, painted on the outside back wall of the house, shows the character with a yellow happy face for a head clutching what appears to be a high-powered rifle.
It wasn’t immediately clear when Crimo painted the mural.
His father, Bob Crimo, told The Post on Wednesday that the 21-year-old was just “expressing his art” with the image and that it “didn’t really mean anything.”

To say the least. It was reported that the father sponsored his son's Firearms ID card when he was 19. That's strange, considering the reported threats by his son. If the father did not become concerned enough to take action after the incidents where the police were called then the father really does seem to have misunderstood the situation.
It is very simple. He was firstly Bat Sh-t crazy and poisoned of mind by left wing hatred and of questionable sexuality and advocated violence in his rap and postings.
He aint MAGA and this one is on the left.

What parents let a mentally ill kid paint a hideous figure ON their house & then buy him guns after his knives were confiscated?????? They should be charged with aiding & abetting.

If he was an only child they may well have thought him to be a bit odd, but fairly normal. Kid paints a smiley face holding a gun on the side of the house—he’s just being artistic. Says he want to kill everyone—well, doesn’t every kid say that at one time or another?
Once he turns 18, he’s an adult and can pretty much do as he pleases. If you’ve been unfortunate enough to have crazy visit a family member, what do you do? Call for help, of course. But if an adult child refuses help you cannot force it upon him. Kicking him out is an obvious but very difficult answer. You hope if you keep him close you can control the crazy. If you kick him out you can’t.
One look at this nutter tells all of us that he is seriously unhinged. But then look at all the pictures from last ‘Pride’ month. We’ll never really know what mom, dad, and uncle really thought was going on with him. No, I would not have ‘sponsored’ him for his 1st F.O.I.D. (Illinois state permission to possess firearms)card. But he didn’t need a sponsor for his second.
Crazy is hard. Normal people can have crazy children. Crazy is one of those things that we look for a cause, thinking there has to be a cause and sometimes there is an obvious cause and sometimes there isn’t. Having a crazy, out of control adult child is not something I’d wish on anyone.
