Lindsey Graham plans to challenge subpoena: ‘This is all politics’
The Hill ^ | 07/06/22 11:32 AM ET | BY BRAD DRESS

Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C) legal team on Wednesday said he will challenge the subpoena from Fulton County, Ga., investigators probing former President Trump’s interference in the 2020 election in the county, calling the investigation “all politics” and a “fishing expedition.”

Atorneys Bart Daniel and Matt Austin said in a statement their client was “neither a subject nor target of the investigation, simply a witness” and said they expect to “prevail” in the legal challenge.

Fulton investigators are probing Trump’s alleged attempt to sway the election in his favor in the Georgia county, including when he made a call to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking him to “find” enough votes for Trump to win the election. During the early January 2021 call, Trump also pressured Raffensperger to audit the election results in Fulton County.

In the subpoena, investigators said Graham had two phone calls with Raffensperger following the 2020 election.

Graham’s attorneys said in their statement that “Graham was well within his rights to discuss with state officials the processes and procedures around administering elections.”

“Should it stand, the subpoena issued today would erode the constitutional balance of power and the ability of a Member of Congress to do their job,” they wrote. “Senator Graham plans to go to court, challenge the subpoena, and expects to prevail.”

Linda's been subpoenaed!

I wonder what he had to say to Raffensperger and if it would reveal some double dealing?

Linda and slippery ass should not be in the same sentence. Getting a little close to truth and too much information. Just saying. 🤔

“Graham was well within his rights to discuss with state officials the processes and procedures around administering elections.” You visit SC every 3-4 years. What business of your’s is in Georgia, Linda? Testify

Lindsey was the guy who, when the Republicans were in charge of the Senate, talked a good game about getting to the bottom of the Russia hoax and attempt to subvert Trump’s presidency, but ended up doing absolutely nothing. It would be a rich irony if he got his ass hauled to court by this DA.

Flimsey was with McCain on the dossier delivery.

He’s neck deep in the Trump/Russia collusion delusion.

It takes some nerve for one of the most-rigged counties in the entire country to be quacking about someone calling them on their open and notorious vote fraud.

“neither a subject nor target of the investigation”

That's a statement that means precisely the same if one were to add the following words at the start: "At this moment in time, he is.."

Maybe.

If the context of his call with Raffensberger was to stab President Trump in the back(which I would 100% not be surprised to learn) then they just want confirmation of that. If so, even though he was just re-elected, his remaining time with the people of SC will not be easy. Outside influences and pressures made sure he was going to be on the ballot against the Democrat. Outside money made the race more competitive than folks thought. Graham and the puppet masters painted SC voters into a corner.

Then again, he could go in there and lie to the Grand Jury, in which case...if Raffensberger has evidence...Linda could really find himself in a very bad position.

Lets not forget Dekalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, Richmond, Chatham, Henry, and Clayton.

Who, in their wildest dreams, would have ever thought that a “RED” state like Georgia...although it ain’t that RED anymore....would be front and center on this type of stuff?

And it is only going to get worse as the two choices for Governor are two sides of the same exact coin. Only one will have the FULL support of the legislature, the other will not. Choose wisely Georgia.

He was certainly not advocating for Trump’s position, of that you can be sure.

County by County....absolutely

Actual numbers...I’m not so sure.

My biggest concern with Georgia is that it’s starting to look like so many other “Blue States”. Deep RED Counties everywhere. A handful of “Blue Counties” that have the population to overwhelm the rural RED Counties. Simple math.

Who would have ever thought, in an eon, that Cobb and Gwinnett would go to the Dem’s. When I moved here in ‘95, those places were some of the most Conservative counties in the country. Not any more.

Fulton, Cobb, Gwinnett, Dekalb, Douglas, Clayton, Rockdale, Henry, Chatham, Richmond, Dougherty, Muscogee, Newton....those 13 counties might soon have enough people in them to drown out the rural Conservative votes in the other 146 counties in the state. And that won’t be good. We’ll still have a Republican legislature but all the statewide offices will be Dem’s.

And for that, having Kemp in the Governor’s office is worse, IMHO, than having Abrams. The Republicans in the legislature won’t challenge him and Ralston. But they will challenge Abrams.

Then again, if we just got rid of the $1,200,000,000 film credit for Hollywood and the $1,500,000,000 tax package for Rivian, we could run about 10-12000 California liberals out of the state in a month or two.

I can’t get myself to feel anything good for Linda. Maybe they will catch him lying and he’ll have to do some time in state pound-you-in-the-butt prison.
