Life’s complexities have made me online very little. Amy’s Place and the canteen are two threads in past when I had a comfortable lifestyle and Internet access. You are all still in my heart and soul and maybe someday again I’ll be able to participate more. But just want to let you know I haven’t forgotten you you’re in my heart much love on this birthday of America Posting same message on both threads ~~ I love you my friends

There really isn’t much rain out over the Pacific to move over to AK and just a few scattered showers here and there around the state. Looks pretty much like down here. LOL

We have slight chances for scattered pop-up showers all week and all we can do is hope one pops up over us. Temps are going to be upper 90s all week on top of that. Just ugly.

I can see by the water ripples on the lake that the wind is out of the west again. Can barely see Mt. Susitna through the smoke. I feel for ya having to deal with that mess. Ugh!

I was a bit surprised at how many people bought fireworks here but we rednecks do love our fireworks. LOL I didn’t buy as many as I normally would but did put a good dent in the BOGO table at the tent I buy from every year. They gave me a nice discount and that helped. I’m sure they give other folks discounts, too, when they buy a sizeable amount.
Based on the ruckus the past three nights, all the tents must have sold out again this year, or came close to it. It was crazy. And fun!

I feel bad for kids in areas that either don’t allow fireworks, had burn bans this year, or their parents simply didn’t have the extra money to spend. Fireworks and the 4th go together and they look forward to it each year. Older ones might understand but the young one, not so easily.

Howdy, luvie.

Did anyone get brave (and stupid) and shoot off fireworks in your neighborhood or did they pay attention to the burn ban?

Good evening/morning, luivie...any noise at your house this evening?

It’s only 9:30 here, so a tad early for illegal neighborhood fireworks...but I suspect they will be out in a couple hours. And right now the sun is out, so....they might not use the sorta safe school yard. Only time will tell.

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Luvie for this morning's thread.

How's everyone doing this morning?

Hey there, radu!

Yes, some were just that stupid. They were setting off the starburst kind. They were pretty, but I was really hoping they wouldn’t burn down the neighborhood. I still hear the occasional popping. I think the cops just let it slide unless someone complains. There are too many to actively pursue.

I spent most of my day modding on that horror story from Highland Park. I’m glad they caught the little freak. Too bad IL has banned the death penalty.

How ‘bout you? Was it noisy around there, too? Did you get any rain? We had clouds, but they passed us by.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Were you and Gizmo able to spend a good amount of time at the lake yesterday or was it too hot to stay out there very long?

Hi, Kathy! It was a bit noisy, but not as bad as it has been at other 4th celebrations. I’m not even sure that the city had fireworks. You can usually hear their loud booms all the way at our house.

I imagine you’re right and you’ll get some folks who just can’t obey the burn bans. I hope they don’t start fires there. And I hope you can sleep when it’s time.

If you didn’t hear any sirens, that’s a good sign. LOL It really wasn’t a good idea for them to set off fireworks, as dry as it is there.

It was quite noisy here again tonight for about three hours. As many fireworks as were set off over the weekend, all the tents in the area must have sold out.
I went across the road since no one’s moved into that house on the hill and watched for a short time. It was too steamy-hot to stay out long though.

No rain for us today. A couple of small showers popped up this afternoon fairly close by but nothing would pop up here. It was just an ugly-hot day.

It looks like Gizmo had a great time. Even found a smelly spot to roll in. LOL

Sounds like we had about the same day, temp-wise, except you had steamy and we had just plain hot.

Glad those people haven’t moved in so you could at least watch for a bit. Maybe when they do, they’ll be nice and let you watch even then. Has the crop dusting crud settled now?

I guess I’d better go. Didn’t get much of a nap since the news stream sort of took a chunk out of it. See ya tomorrow!

It was 93 this afternoon when I had to run a couple of errands with the humidity around 80%. It got steamier after those couple of showers popped up close by and stayed that way. That’s why I couldn’t stay out very long to watch fireworks.

After those people move in, I can’t just pop over there to stand in their yard whenever I want to to watch fireworks or storm systems rolling in like I have for the past 20+ years. I not happy that house was finally put up for sale after all these years. It’s THE best viewing spot in the county. Oh well, nothing last forever.

Get some good sleep. Catch ya tomorrow.

A big sounding display has just started, but it sounds like south and west of me...closer to the airport. The baseball stadium is north and west of me. I can’t see anything.

And my neighborhood has been completely quiet so far...
