Glenn Greenwald: Journalist Echo Chamber on Twitter Led to Cassidy Hutchinson Fail
bretibart ^ | 30 Jun 2022 | ALLUM BOKHARI

Glenn Greenwald castigated the state of modern journalism in a tweet thread yesterday, arguing that the progressive ideological echo-chamber that currently governs the industry is responsible for the repeated spread of untrue stories like Russiagate and Cassidy Hutchinson’s now-infamous claim that Donald Trump grabbed the steering wheel of a presidential limo.

“As any lawyer will tell you (if being honest), few things are less reliable than a proceeding with no adversarial component. These hearings have zero,” Greenwald said of the increasingly farcical of the January 6th committee. “One can assign whatever blame one wants for that, but perhaps it means journalists should be…skeptical…of assertions there.”

Greenwald slammed fellow journalists for conducting their work in an echo-chamber, insulated from potentially useful feedback from conservative reporters.

“If, yesterday, you followed conservative journalists or analysts — and really, why would anyone do such a thing: just block and ignore them — you’d have heard instant skepticism even over the physics of Hutchinson’s claim that Trump was able to grab the wheel of the Beast,” said Greenwald. “Journalistic* skepticism, not cheerleading, is needed.”

“If, as a journalist, you don’t *instantly* join the liberal mob — if you wait to see how facts emerge — you stand accused of sin. But if you jump on board, applause, virality and cable bookings are yours.”

“It’s literally impossible to count how many times during the Trump years some *blockbuster!* Russiagate event materialized – the thing that was going to be the fatal blow – and journalists spent all day on Twitter reflexively peddling it, only to watch it fall apart over and over.”

“For many (I’d say: most) corporate journalists, “Twitter” = “liberal Twitter” = “the only constituency that matters.”

...Trump was able to grab the wheel of the Beast,” said Greenwald.

The main problem with her story is that 45 got into an SUV, not the Beast.
The J6 circus even showed it.

Even had he been in the beast he couldn’t have grabbed anything up front. There’s a barrier

No matter which vehicle he got into, there’s no way that Trump’s girth would’ve allowed him to do anything more than tap the driver’s shoulder with or without a barrier. Barriers can be adjusted to be open or closed, but they are indeed an additional space-occupying item along the entire back of the front seat.

Additionally, why would anyone try to grab a steering wheel from the back seat? Trump doesn’t want to die, and he doesn’t want to kill his people or anyone out on the road and sidewalks. These Trump haters are beyond hate, they are absolutely insane. Whatever brain cells they once had must be necrotizing at this point.

These Trump haters (AKA FOX NEWS CORP) are beyond hate, they are absolutely insane.
Including to the point of risking everything with election fraud to get their way.

The echo chamber is a large part of it, but another component of the problem is the Left's absolute hatred of Trump and their deep hunger to feed that hate.

Trump is not only a symbol of all they hate about the country. He is also the one person who has the strength and the courage to defeat the Left.

Ergo, the Left's desperate hunger for any news that might damage Trump is so great that any morsel causes a shark-like feeding frenzy.

In addition to him being in an entirely different car and in addition to there being a physical barrier between the back and the driver in the Beast, both of which made the entirely ludicrous story impossible, as Trump pointed out, he’s going to physically take on a couple of secret service agents when he’s spotting them about 40-50 years? I don’t think so.

The fact that these clowns don’t even stop to ask themselves such questions shows exactly why it is that Americans have the least trust in their corporate media of any of the countries surveyed.....less than in any European country, less than in Canada, less than in Russia, etc etc. We know they are lying leftist hacks.

You could have added a little tiny baby T-rex for Buchanan’s run against Bush for the presidency in the 90s.

The MAGA revolt has been brewing for a long time.

I would argue otherwise.
The sinking of the Titanic was a fail.
What Cassidy Smollett did was beyond a fail.

Whenever the GOP sends me a fund-raising letter, I now take a big, thick, black Sharpie and write “I support Trump” in big letters that cover the whole page, and mail it back to them.

There is no GOP. There is only Trump. The establishment better get on board.

The letter after the name means jack anymore.

The only reason political parties still exist is to give voters the illusion of choice.

A pol is either loyal to our former republic or to Deep State.

The vast majority of our pols have proven themselves to be loyal to Deep State.

If a candidate is for MAGA, I’ll vote for him or her, regardless of party.

But, but, Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, Andy McCarthy all said Hutchinson delivered devastating testimony. Bigger than Watergate, and as we all know, Watergate brought down, permanently, Richard Nixon.

Trump is not only a symbol of all they hate about the country.

He is the symbol of the 81,000,000….I think many more than that….deplorable, uneducated, way-fist, xenophobic, degenerate people that voted for him in 2020. At least that’s how they think of and describe us.

I’ll go with 81,000,000 ,and more, people that saw love this country, saw shat he was doing and supported him for all that he was doing and would continue to do.

We were on track to becoming the greatest country on the planet in so many ways and the puppet masters couldn’t have that.

Alligation on page 1 at the top of the fold in the largest font possible until proven false.

Retraction on page 20 at the bottom of the page in the smallest font possible.
