Supreme Court says several gun cases deserve a new look

The Supreme Court said Thursday that gun cases involving restrictions in Hawaii, California, New Jersey and Maryland deserve a new look following its major decision in a gun case last week.

In light of last week's ruling — which said that Americans have a right to carry a gun outside the home — lower courts should take another look at several cases that had been awaiting action by the high court, the court said. Those cases include ones about high-capacity magazines, an assault weapons ban and a state law that limits who can carry a gun outside the home.

I looked and was surprised this wasn't already posted.

Today's order list from the Supreme Court web site includes these cases.

“The Supreme Court said Thursday that gun cases involving restrictions in Hawaii, California, New Jersey and Maryland deserve a new look following its major decision in a gun case last week. “

Where does this come from?

An official pronouncement of the SC?

Traitor Roberts approves?

[Dear John, who’s your leaker?]

It’s on anothe thread. Sorry for not looking it up. Good news though, or at least not automatic bad news.

This may mean, for those of us deep behind enemy lines, that Marylanders may be allowed to look at pictures of guns in magazines and online...
Snicker...

Sounds like the court is telling the left/blue state B.O.H.I.C.A.

Thanks.

Apparently not an upcoming review by the swing voters, Kav and Traitor Roberts.

Knocked it back over the net to the lesser courts.

California politicians will be working hard to throw up as many roadblocks as possible.

This is the Supremes VACATING previous pro-gun-control decisions and sending them back for further consideration in light of their new decision. The issues sent back include magazine limits, assault rifle bans, and other stuff.

It will be interesting to see if the lower courts continue their willful obstruction of the second amendment in light of this.

I think we will get a bunch of good new pro-gun decisions out of this. The downside is that a decision in one circuit that goes pro-gun is not binding in other circuits. So, for example, in my state, CO, the state supreme court will just ignore anything pro-gun that they don’t absolutely have no choice but to follow and even then, they will try to figure out how to obstruct actual implementation.

Get rid of the ATF, 68 ban, and 34NFA. Then also get rid of this latest unconstitutional law they just banned and that would be a starting place for our side to start ‘compromising’.

I am very grateful for this court.

When folks come to tell me we can do better than Trump in
the future, I’m going to consider them RINOs.

"deserve a new look" is libspeak for "review and rule in compliance with our order".

These orders are just the start, and several abortion cases were also vacated and remanded, with likely more to come.

They aren't vacated. These are cases that had been submitted to the Supreme Court and were waiting to be accepted or not. The Court sent them back down to the Circuit courts to be reconsidered, taking into account the new ruling in Bruen. The Circuit court decisions are still in force.

In some states, concealed carry is in the form of Constitutional Carry.
This means that anyone that can legally carry a weapon may do so without
a permit. The Constitutional Carry states are: Alaska (residents only),
Arizona, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Vermont
(does not issue permits), West Virginia (residents only), and Wyoming.

I'm calling out for Constitutional Carry nationwide.

These are federal cases. A state Supreme Court will not be ruling on them.

Already have.

Now instead of “good cause” the “sheriff or police chief can look on your social media and determine whether or not your’re a threat.”

Which based on what I understand, is just a shade of the exact same BS the SCOTUS just killed.

Texas is now constitutional carry.
