Woke California school board members call for people to BOYCOTT Fourth of July because 'there is no reason to celebrate'

A woke California school board member is calling for people to boycott the Fourth of July, claiming 'there is no reason to celebrate' America's Independence Day.

AnaMarie Avila Farias, a third-generation Contra Costa County resident and member of the county's board of education, shared a fading blue and white image of the United States flag on June 28, along with the words 'BOYCOTT 4TH OF JULY,' on Facebook.

'I haven't celebrated 4th of July since 2016 and I don't think it's a holiday to celebrate' Farias wrote in a Facebook post. 'What do you think?'

The elected official's stance on the federal holiday prompted a mixed bag of reactions from people on her private page, some agreeing with her while others were critical.

'Why boycott the 4th of July? Without what our forefathers did we as Americans would not have the freedoms that we have today,' one user wrote.

Another agreed him with him, only to ask: 'Why? The holiday celebrates declaring independence from Britain's tyrant King George III. You wish we were still subjects of Britain?'

To be fair, sometimes grant writing fot government contracts bears some similarity to welfare program benefit maximization. On both cases the supplicants hope for government largesse.

That’s one reason Fauci has so much power. He directs a multi billion dollar research program that runs on grants.

Every man from youth to death is a “dirty old man”.
Some admit it, most don’t.

With the promotion of Juneteenth, we knew it wouldn’t be
long before this happened.

Well, the official name of our newest holiday is ‘Juneteenth National Day of Independence. Last year, locally, someone had a “Juneteenth’ sign with July 4 crossed out. I’m waiting for those who celebrate the 4th to be called out as racist.

“...AnaMarie Avila Farias, a third-generation Contra Costa County resident...”

In other words, she is a third generation illegal alien anchor baby!

When I was younger some of the old folks refused to celebrate July 4.

Vicksburg fell on the fourth.

“I can understand there are differing opinions on various issues.”

Me, too. So why not just stop recognizing Cinco De Mayo as a minor holiday and stop the concurrent resolution by congress asking the president to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe Cinco de Mayo with appropriate ceremonies and activities in 2005. Even Mexico doesn’t celebrate it as we do. They recognize it was just a battle won over the French in 1862. Nothing more.

Wouldn’t it be nice to snap your fingers and give them what they want?

They’d wake up tomorrow bowing to a totem pole and eating acorns and fish entrails. And that’d be the better side of their short existence.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
