Many Coloradans may not realize this, but this Tuesday will be a seismic turning point for our beautiful state. Primary voters will either head us down a path towards prosperity, or down a road to relentless government overreach in the state known for being the new frontier.
In just three and a half years, Jared Polis and his party have taken us from number 11 to 29 in business-friendly states, driven us to No. 1 in bank robberies, auto theft, and property crime, and created a crisis for our kids with one of the top suicide rates and drug addiction rates for children in the US. Our energy industry is decimated thanks to terrible policy decisions made by our governor at a time when energy independence could not be more critical for our country.
All this while Jared Polis pops up on national media spots pretending like all is fine in Colorado, nothing to see here, as he preps his bid to replace President Joe Biden.
Polis is so afraid of his real record that the political non-profit he started has dropped $3 million into Colorado’s Republican primary, in an attempt to pick his opponent in his upcoming re-election bid this fall.
I am the opponent he’s afraid to face.
I’m a mom on a mission that won’t stand by and watch our kids and grandkids’ future evaporate. I’m an entrepreneur that helped hundreds of franchisees build their own American dream. I’m the daughter of a cop that won’t tolerate the disregard for law and order that Jared Polis and his party have let loose on our communities. And, I’m a small town kid that doesn’t share Jared Polis’ belief that the rural towns across Colorado are a nuisance, taking up precious water and resources from his big city friends.
I’ve had it. And I’m betting that a lot of other folks in Colorado feel the same. We’ll find out this Tuesday.
My primary opponent cannot win the general election. Democrats will capitalize on his criminal record of domestic abuse, as well as the fact that he gave special favors to a friend when he led our regional small business administration office. Governor Polis knows he can beat him handily, so he and his party are spending millions now in our primary to avoid spending much more in the general election.
Polis knows I’m a fighter, and he knows I can win. I beat Jared’s right-hand pick a few years ago in a heated statewide race here in Colorado, against all odds. I’m the only Republican who has won state-wide in our state in almost eight years. I’m the only statewide Republican right now.
I’ve faced adversity my whole life, losing my first husband in a plane crash at age 27, almost losing Camp Bow Wow, my franchise company in the great recession and coming out on the Inc 500/5000 fastest growing company list, and almost losing my life when I had brain surgery just under two years ago.
Those difficulties have prepared me for the battle of my life, the one for our country and beautiful state. I have been blessed to live the American dream. I want to do all I can to protect that for our kids, so they can have the same chance I did.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
I did what I could. Dropped off my ballot about two hours ago.
I’m registered independent. Can I go vote for the lowest polling democrats and mess their stuff up, too?
Try and stop them.
The Colorado eGOP hates Trump. That’s all you need to know of those creeps.
Thanks
Designed for election fraud.
I wonder if that could be remedied with a referendum. Like they did when they legalized weed.
Please add me to the list.
You are added. Thanks.
Crossover voting in primary elections must be stopped for the integrity of both parties. I would propose laws that say, “one can not switch parties less than six months to the election one is voting in.” This would stop this crap.
In Texas we can do cross over voting. I admit I did such and voted for a democrat that was totally not electable, he won the primary and was swept to an incredible defeat. He lost his ass in the election. This was legal but it was wrong!
After voting for said such a left wing democrat, Maddox, I needed a bath, a drink, and solace. I will not do this again. It is just plain damn wrong.
You're close. This law would fix it immediately:
"Declare whatever party you want for your primary ballot, but that is the same party ballot you will receive in the general election."
Problem solved.
There are no party ballots in general elections. All the final candidates are on the ballot and anyone, regardless of party affiliation, can vote for any candidate that they want to.
“I would propose laws that say, “one can not switch parties less than six months to the election one is voting in.” This would stop this crap.”
It would stop nothing.
No amount of reasonable advance time would be sufficient. Even if you made the time frame 10 years, Democrats would strategically simply register as Republicans *permanently* if necessary to continue to sabotage Republican primaries forever. We’re the Stupid Party, they’re the Smart Party or at least cutthroat, ruthless, etc.; the GOP are forever wimps.
With voting and switching parties (when necessary) so easy to do, ALL primaries now are effectively open primaries, and the best the Republicans can do is learn how “two can play at that game”. In which case Democrats will simply clear the field for their preferred candidates, leaving Republican “saboteurs” nothing to vote for in a Democrat primary.
If you don’t think that’s happening already, name any high-profile important Democrat primary (Senate or Governor) in a solidly Democrat state, which Republicans could have affected if they had chosen to commit that sort of sabotage. Even if you can think of one of those, now name one in which the Republicans DID affect the outcome via an “Operation Chaos” maneuver. There are none.
Going to the polls here shortly
be that as it may, Joe o’dea is the ultimate RINO, big money, country club, GOPe candidate with total backing by the Colorado GOP apparatus that HATES Donald Trump ...
the MAGA candidate is Ron Hanks, whose positions are the polar opposite of o’dea ...

Referendums and primaries were both designed by progressives and advocated by progressives to advance the progressive agenda. Taking party nominations away from the most active and involved and passionate members has predictable results.
Open primaries are a natural extension of this chicanery, which hurts (even further) conservatism and the Constitutional order.
The best thing we could do would be to demand the complete and utter abolition of referendums and primaries outright. Throw them on the ash heap of history.
Are you deaf? My solution specifically excludes cross-voting in the general. In the general election, you can only undervote the party you chose with your primary party ballot.
The solution would eliminate Rush's "mushy middle".
The Democrats would be shut out of the Presidency for generations.
If this he Dems use trickery to primary Boebert out, there will be consequences.
