After a warning from the head of three power companies, France’s government has announced that it will restart a coal-fired plant this winter.
A coal-fueled power plant in the north-east of France is due to be restarted by the country’s government this winter in order to better combat energy insecurity resulting in part due to ongoing hostilities with Russia. The announcement that the Saint-Avold will be brought back online comes shortly after the heads of three major energy companies in France warned that the general public must “immediately” cut back on energy use to better enable officials to better handle energy insecurity.
According to broadcaster RTL, officials have said that the coal-fired plant is being brought back into service “a precaution, given the Ukrainian situation”.
Le Figaro meanwhile notes officials as saying that they will be including so-called “environmental compensation” as part of the plan to reactivate the plant, with the publication claiming that an environmentally neutral reopening for the plant has been demanded by government.

Might happen here, too. What a joke Biden is...and all the dummies who kiss.............
Is the coal plant that serves the Capitol Building still on line?
How dare you.
Europe’s foremost energy expert is already preparing her response to this outrage.
WTH does that mean? Are they going to plant more trees when they start the coal plants? Insane tree-huggers never rest.
France has several nuclear power plants down for maintenance, could take years on a few of them. France ranks first in the world in percentage of power generated from nuclear plants and hasn’t bought into the whole renewable wind/solar boondogle, yet.
The EU recently classified nuclear power as green energy, which would make it easier to bypass buruecratic regulations in construction. Germany is working to reverse the EU green label for nuclear, basically sabotaging countries like France that want to build more nuclear plants. The current energy crisis might give the EU some incentive to keep nuclear listed as green energy since the alternative would be to keep fossil fuel plants open.
The tree huggers never answer my simple question, which is,
who caused to global warming which ended the last ice age?
That happened long before man invented fossil burning machines.
Yep. I grew up in upstate NY where the place was under a couple miles of ice 10,000 years ago. Now I’m in upstate Idaho where the place was under a mile of ice 10,000 years ago.
WHY did all that ice go away?
Xiden would let us freeze first.
No, it was switched to NG. Now I think it is off line permanently. Not sure.

I guy I know worked as a wetlands broker. In my state, if you want to develop a wetland, you must first purchase and set aside a similar-sized wetland somewhere else in the state. My friend brokered those deals.
So I guess if you are opening a nasty and evil polluter somewhere in France, you must at the same time close another one.
apparently SOME governments not willing to let the peasants freeze in the dark just to appease the Green Religion ...
Might happen here, too.

There is no way, no matter haw bad it might get, with brownouts and blackouts, that the greens will allow US coal plants to be restarted.
Comet strike that killed all the mega fauna, causing the very cold Younger Dryas, permanently changeling Earth’s climate.
Comet was sent by the Giant SUV Collective of Mars, or else an act of God.
They bulldozed two coal plants in my area.
Putin's Green Puppets were pleased.
Maybe plant trees, but most likely buy carbon credits from some EU broker.
Funny how the left is always pushing “believe in the science” but hate nuclear power, one of the ultimate quintessential expressions of science and technology.
Good thing those comet-strike days are behind us. Right?
