OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Before he became a leading voice for conservative causes on Capitol Hill, U.S. Senator James Lankford spent more than a decade as the director of youth programming at the Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center, a sprawling campground about 80 miles south of Oklahoma City that attracts more than 50,000 campers in grades six through 12 each year.
This turkey is an embarrassment to Oklahoma.
This statement caught my eye:
Before he became a leading voice for conservative causes on Capitol Hill..
Lankford is no conservative. He's a uniparty stooge. A RINO in ever sense of the word. Even before the tally was complete, he had already congratulated pedo joe for the win.
Joe Biden says “of course!”
What is it the groomers say? By 8 or it’s too late?
Not enough millstones in the world for certain folks to go swimming with them.
Jerry Lee Lewis would agree.
He appears to be drawing a distinction between could and should.
Can they steal candy at the store? Yes.
Should they? No.
He is pretending to have not properly understood the question, so as to avoid having to answer the actual question.
Regards,
For the record, not everyone here in Oklahoma agrees with you. Like all current Republican Senators, there is not one that is 100% Conservative, but Lankford has voted conservatively more than most. There has been a massive out of state attempt to destroy all ranking members of Congress, and the Governor, so as to weaken all of them against Democrats. They mysteriously show up and spend tens of millions on local races, and finance total hit jobs on Stitt, Lankford, and anyone else that they can weaken. I have tried to identify most of them, and they are lobbyists that can be traced back to Washington and California for the most part. It is all DARK Money that is being poured into the state, perhaps to help the new found “Marijuana Wealth” that is infecting the state, but also from the liberal political machine.
Lankford needs to be defeated!
"Yes, they can," he said.
He went on to say "HURRRRRR! DURRRRRRRRR!!!"
He’ll be another vote for amnesty, like Hoeven and Rubio if re-elected.
Another idiot just blathering
“””He appears to be drawing a distinction between could and should.

My take as well.
We must never forget the media, in this case ABC, is part of the Democrat Party and the media will do anything to take down a Republican whether that Republican is RINO or MAGA.
In most places there is now a "two year" rule that keeps teens from being charged with statutory rape for otherwise consensual sex.
No matter what we as parents may wish, hormones do not take a vacation at a summer camp, whether Christian or pagan. (Not excusing the situation).
I do not know the politician but it sounds like he was indeed drawing a distinction between "could" and "should" as xzins stated in post 5.
"It was absolutely due to the fact that there's just not enough adults around."
True back then, and still true today, I suspect.
Primary is Tuesday!
Right.
Don't lose sight of the fact that this is "The Angle" that the Democrats will use to try to pry this seat loose from the Republicans.
There's no chance that Lankford is NOT going to run, so this is what the Media will use.
I'll have to examine my Oklahoma stuff to see if there's a chance the Democrats/the Media can gin up a vote fraud "victory" here in Okie.
I believe that TWO seats are up this fall. Inhofe's last four years are up for grabs.

This is from the Ass Press. which has been known to shade things ever so slightly to the port side.
Getting away from this matter the big problem in Oklahoma politics is that at the end of the day the Republicans pay homage to business interests.
Business comes first which moderates any conservative tendencies so the ability of business interests to do business in Oklahoma and beyond is not impeded.
Concealed carry for example is negated at the door of a venue used by a professional sports team as I understand it.
Business has to be put in its place but the Oklahoma politicians name your GOP politicians and this includes all the way back to J.C. Watts have to bow to business after all the conservative speeches are made.
The headline is ridiculously out of context. The situation being considered was at a summer camp, where a 15 year old boy had sex with a 13 year old girl.
The full context isn’t provided until the 3rd paragraph of the article:
“In 2009, while Lankford worked at the camp, the family of a 13-year-old girl sued a 15-year-old boy who was alleged to have had sex with her at the camp. Lankford, who was not in Congress at the time, is not alleged to have had any direct knowledge of the alleged assault, has not been accused of any wrongdoing and was not a defendant in the lawsuit, which was settled for an undisclosed amount before it was scheduled to go to trial.”
While no one is arguing that this is a good thing: (1) Lankford was not involved in the incident in anyway, except for he happened to be an adult leader who was somewhere in the camp at the time it happened; (2) anyone who has raised or worked with young people that age know that if given sufficient opportunity, sometimes incidents like this will happen.
This is the kind of garbage that every R/Conservative politician will face in every election cycle. The “mainstream” news media will search for the messiest situation that the conservative politician has ever been associated with, no matter how long ago and whether they were directly involved or not, and then have post the most incendiary headline they can invent about the incident, knowing that few will actually read the details.
What it does say about summer camps:
* There’s a reason that holding separate summer camps for boys and girls is a good idea.
* When our kids were this age, we never sent our kids to a summer camp that was longer than 6 days, Sunday evening to Saturday morning.
* When our kids were this age, we never sent our kids to a camp where we did not have at least some participation in the leadership. We might not have been out at camp every minute, but one of us would always spend a part of the time at the camp.
I honestly couldn’t imagine putting my kids under the control of an adult other than family for an two or three weeks, like is the case at some of these camps.
This was NOT a case of an adult having sex with a 13 year old, it was a 15 year old boy having sex with a 13 year old. Now I grew up in the 1980's and 1990's and I can say even then there were a LOT of 15 year old boys and 13 year old girls having sex, and I can pretty much guarantee that the vast majority of these 13 year old girls weren't being forced.
