Say what you want about JFK otherwise, but he did the right thing and so did Khrushchev.

I lived through JFK and had to watch as the left trained America’s youth to learn all the things you have absorbed about him.

JFK’s immigration goals which resulted in the 1965 Immigration Act is what killed America, it was the replacement act.
While it’s true I never made it down to Ukraine while I worked in the Soviet Union, I did learn to love the Russian people while fighting the Soviet Communist government.
What I think is really bad in this world right now is OUR current regime, the Deep State as it were, the Brits, NATO, and the EU. Ukraine is just a lever for them to try and do to Russia what they’ve done to so many countries under the guise of Arab Spring. Only this time it’s not working out, and they are brining us to the Brink of WWIII. Each and every day they do something new to poke the Bear to attack another encroaching NATO country.
I do not understand your perspective. How did the Republic of Georgia “poke the bear”? Putin made efforts on his own to bring back the Cold War because the KGB in him runs deep. Many Russian speakers in the Donbas like my wife’s family and friends wanted no part of the “separatist” movement which was financed by Russia, started by Russian agents, born with threats and bribes, and finally pushed with troops. But now the bureaucrats in those areas (like Alchevsk) have to join the party UNITED RUSSIA.
What do you think of Liberty Plaza being renamed Lenin Plaza? Nobody has to “poke the bear”. NATO was not an offensive threat. Russia is a mass murdering invader. Period!
