U.S. Jewish groups on Friday sharply denounced the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that recognized a woman's constitutional right to an abortion and legalized it nationwide, deeming it a "moral failure" that puts lives at risk.

I have listened to many arguments pro and con about the subject but have never heard it called a "righteous procedure".
The American Jew unfortunately has forgotten the atrocity of the Holocaust. What they did to pregnant women etc in the camps. This is outrageous they are nothing but a POS to this nation. Instead of helping not to repeat the past they are encouraging it. Schindler must be turning in his grave.
The must be the amended, 21st Century, Leftist Jewish law. A new interpretation of the Torah...?
Keep in mind that not all Jews hold the same religious/moral beliefs, just like Christians and so-called “Christians”.
There are liberal (Reformed) Jews, middle-ground Jews (Conservative), and Orthodox Jews.
Just like in Christianity, one side often does not speak for the other.
Apparently they haven’t read the Old Testament being worshipers of Ba’al.
Here is some far left Rabbi trying to talk for all the Jews!
Kind of like AOC trying to be a voice of America.
The Orthodox Jews, on the other hand, are very pro life and consider abortion a murder!
So outlawing the murder of millions of Americans is a “moral failure”? Whoda thunk?
It sounds a little crazy, eh?
It was explained to me that you - a female - owe good genes to your family. If a member of the family is pregnant, especially outside of marriage, it’s a matter for the whole family, especially Dad. Therefore it’s a family decision and no one else’s business. (And so if you’re a pregnant J3wish chick and you don’t want to be pregnant anymore, you just visualize Dad yelling and Mom crying and say to yourself, “I’m not gonna put them through that,” and you make an appointment. You are being moral because you’re saving your family a lot of misery in leaving them out of the decision-making process.)
That was how it was explained to me. It’s not what I think or believe, that was what I was told because I was curious about why J3wish chicks I was acquainted with back in the 70s/80s/90s were so casual about abortion when everybody else was losing their freaking minds over it. (They also were very casual about promiscuity, marrying and then getting divorced repeatedly, cheating on husbands/boyfriends, etc. Just saying. I’m staying away from them these days.)
There may be a component of tribalism involved: If you’re used to “hard times” on the desert, having to worry about attack, paucity of resources, etc., then whether to carry a pregnancy to term becomes a group decision.
Again - this is just stuff that I’ve gleaned from conversations and so on. I’ve never done a study. Just passing on what I have learned from talking to others.
Like a lot of people, I used to believe that abortion was an unpleasant but necessary fact of life and it was just common sense to give people access to it. I no longer believe those things, I realize that I was stupid and I was being lied to.
So “go forth and multiply,” is a suggestion, not a command?
Very true. From the article:
The Orthodox Union noted it was “unable to either mourn or celebrate” the ruling, adding that “the extreme polarization around and politicization of the abortion issue does not bode well for a much-needed nuanced result. Human life — the value of everyone created in the Divine Image — is far too important.”
The whining JINO atheists can STFU.
So a woman or nowadays, a man, wakes up one morning and discovers she’s/he’s pregnant and wonders who did it and when? Go to a state that still does child killing and get rid of your inconvenience.
Most Jews like abortion. They are mostly leftists in America.
Never again eh?
IF a mothers life is at risk she and her doctor can make whatever decision they want
Jews are observant of the Old Testament, right? Don’t they remember God had a very negative opinion of those who sacrifice their children to Moloch? (I am a new reader of the Bible, working my way through the Old Testament, and this comes up quite a few times.
I don’t see how ripping infants limb from limb only because they are still inside the mother is much different than casting them into a fire.
Sad and alienating. Sorry but if a person claims that abortion and the killing of pre born human life is “righteous”, simply would never trust such an individual on any matter or importance.
To paraphrase Abby Hoffman: “Abortion isn’t a moral issue for Jews because in Jewish culture the fetus isn’t considered fully human until it’s finished graduate school.”
To these “leaders” it is simple. To be Jewish is to be leftist. The “religion” is liberalism first. Does God still get in there somewhere or is the golden calf ruling the day?
