I can almost feel the pressure building.
Should be an interesting summer.
ANTIFA and the various pro-abort groups promised to burn down Washington DC. I hope they don’t disappoint.
I doubt they will follow through - I am sure their FBI handlers have them on a very tight leash.
why **** with contraception?
I believe married couples should have access to contraception, but that’s not in the federal government’s purview.
courtus interptus?
Keep the pressure up, Justice Thomas, and when they expire from the pressure dance on their graves
I think Thomas believes the federal government shouldn’t be forcing the states to accept/require anything... the decisions should be up to each state.
Alito’s original draft provided a basis for overturning many other decisions - but it was revised, I’m sure to get Roberts on board, to state that this decision was about abortion ONLY, and laid out the framework for why it wouldn’t be precedent for those other cases.
If it had gone 5-4 with Roberts a bitter dissenter, we would not be in as good a place as we are with a 6-3 decision.
It’s a hoax folks.
Thomas wants the GOP to lose.
With the decision today, and the future Supreme Court decisions on marriage and contraception outlined by Justice Thomas, the Republican Party is headed for a permeant majority in Washington DC and across the country.
Contraception, other than abortion does NOT take a life. Justice Thomas should leave that one alone
The Supreme Court redefining marriage DOES need to be overturned.
Thomas is arguing that any decision ruled under the Court invention, substantive due process, needs to be looked at again.
This is today’s underlying victory.
Bull crappola. I doubt Clarence Thomas said exactly that.
Yes!!!
And get rid of Obamacare
Yes, drive the stake even deeper!
Thomas is just saying that “substantive due process” is an illegitimate line of constitutional reasoning, and that rulings based on it should be revoked. I regard it as highly unlikely that any state would ban most forms of contraception or reinstate laws against sodomy, which were very rarely enforced even before the Court banned them.
These are issues the government should have no involvement, no funding, and zero laws. Marriage is a religious institution. Government has co-opted marriage to pick winners and losers when it comes to taxes and a variety of other benefits. As for contraception, government has no constitutional power to be involved in healthcare decisions or funding healthcare. Government has proven multiple times that they are abject failures when the get involved in healthcare. It should be noted that abortion is not healthcare. It is murder.
I think the contraceptive case was really about doctors selling drugs.
