With the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, abortion rights are officially on the ballot in Pennsylvania.
*Republican State Sen. Doug Mastriano, running for governor, believes life starts at conception.
“We’re gonna have to work our way towards that,” he said during a GOP primary debate.
Mastriano has said he believes in no exceptions. He’s also said he’d end any state funding to Planned Parenthood.
*Democrat Attorney General Josh Shapiro, running for governor, has said he supports current Pennsylvania law and would veto any attempts to further restrict abortion access in the state.
“I believe abortion is healthcare — and access to abortion must be protected here in Pennsylvania,” he said in a statement to The Inquirer.
*Republican Mehmet Oz, running for the US Senate, during a debate in Harrisburg in April, pointed to his anti-abortion stance as a key reason former President Donald Trump endorsed him.
Trump “said that I am pro-life, and I am pro-life,” Oz said. “I’ve been very clear on my position throughout this race.”
*Democrat Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who is running for the Senate against Dr. Oz, said in April he did not believe in any exceptions to abortion rights.
“That is between a woman and her physician,” Fetterman said at the Carlisle debate, when asked if he believed in any exceptions.
“It’s certainly not between me or any politician. We settled this decades ago, and the fact that these states are trying to repeal it … we have to push back on that.”
He has said he would vote to end the filibuster to codify at the national level the right to abortion. He also said he would only support Supreme Court justices who support Roe v. Wade.

Dr Azz has be completely silent on abortion and gun control this week. You would think that this is a perfect opportunity for him to clarify his positions. He has not. He points to Trump’s words in a debate. He is squishy about his own positions. Dr Azz is more than likely a Democrat plant that duped Trump and GOP primary voters.
Thr smart play isn’t to answer questions on abortion, that’s just a trap. The play is to ask questions on abortion. That’s why the Rats win the debate. Do you think a raped women should have access to an abortion? To win the argument ask the questions. Do you think a baby being delivered should be aborted?
Took him 4-5 hours to release a statement on Roe vs Wade today. Probably had to do some polling.
I’m definitely against John Fetterman for Senate. I voted for Kathy. When Fetterman gets to the Senate, he will vote for ultra leftist radical candidates to the Supreme Court.
What was his statement? Where is he on gun control that passed the House today? I guess he has to do more polling.
Dr Azz just tweeted: “ The Supreme Court’s decision to
overturn Roe v. Wade is to many
considered controversial. I respect
those with a different view, but as a
heart surgeon, I’ve held the smallest
of human hearts in the palm of my
hand, and will defend the sanctity of
life. I am relieved that protecting the
lives of America’s unborn children
will once again be decided by the
people through their elected
representatives. As we lift up life, we
must focus on the needs of mothers
and children, for whom this decision
can be the greatest gift of all.”
Well, yeah, how else is Lt. Gov. Strokie McTatertot going to get adrenochrome to combat his major stroke symptoms?
Wasn’t “settled” decades ago, it was unconstitutionally forced upon the nation decades ago....
An activist court engaged in completely unconstitutional actions to invent a right that does not exist....
The ruling today return it to the legislatures where it ALWAYS BELONGED.
That’s actually a pretty good statement.
Pretty good. Now let’s see where he stands on gun control.
If they want to be sexually active but don’t want the natural result of babies - they can always have a tubal ligation.
Democratic nominee for Senate and Lieutenant Governor JOHN FETTERMAN released the following statement in response to the ruling:
“Deciding how and when to become a mother is a decision that should always be made by a woman and her doctor, not politicians.
If there were any doubts left about what’s at stake in this race, it became crystal clear today.
The right to an abortion will be on the ballot this November in Pennsylvania.
I will protect abortion rights. Dr. Oz will take them away. It’s that simple.”
I like the idea we’re going to have big families again. MAGA.
Which I believe differ from positions on abortion he held prior to his run for the Senate.
I like Dr. Oz’s latest statement affirming his pro-life position and as a Pennsylvania voter, I intend to vote for him in November. (You can’t have everything in a candidate, but the pro-life agenda is important to me.) I would also welcome more dialogue about aid to mothers for health care and children’s health and education.)
Most of the world doesn’t know that, ‘at five weeks’, a preborn baby can be caught on an ultrasound doing what some sonographers call the “Jelly Bean Dance.” On these early ultrasounds, you’ll find a small, frog-shaped bundle of baby wiggling and bopping around in the womb. The most amazing sight is the baby’s fluttering heart.
Most women who seek abortions will never watch one, not even the educational videos that depict the procedure without the messiness. In the same way, many of these women don’t know about the “Jelly Bean Dance,” or the heart that flutters like a hummingbird.
Eight to 12 used to be the norm.
