The vote to overturn Roe v. Wade was 5-4. Alito wrote the majority opinion, joined by Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett.
The vote to uphold Mississippi’s abortion restriction was 6-3. Roberts voted with the majority for that outcome, but he said in a separate opinion that he would not have overturned Roe.

I agree.
However, I don’t discount the energy from the Left behind the pro-abortion folks, and fully expect, as I said, their attempts to use the U.S. Congress in attempts to legislate a right to abortion, with merely a federal law.
Protests and attacks on Churches are useless. The decision has been made.

What are the democrats going to do now when nominating new SCOTUS judges with Abortion off the table. Are they now going to ask if you believe in God or if you are a Christian?
Hernan Cotez landed in the new world off Yucatán in 1519. When the Christian Spaniards found the Mexica (Aztecs) with a wondrous city in the heart of old Mexico. They were appalled to find the owners of this beautiful city offering human sacrifices by cutting out the heart of living people, cutting off their heads and displaying skulls like trophies, and eating the victims arms and legs. Needless to say these Spaniard Christian men were horrified. They then had the Mexica idols the Mexica worshiped thrown down from the Mexica temples and in place installed a Cross and an image of the Virgin Mary at the top of those temples.
If Cortez landed in America today and found that a supposed Christian nation was allowing women to muder and slaughter their unborn children by tearing them apart and ripping up the hearts of children in the womb the cradle of life, they would have been just as sickened and horrified and would have thrown out the democrats from the capital buildings, destroyed their idols and replaced them with a Cross.
Unless and until the U.S. Congress and POTUS combine to actually pass such a federal law, the March for Life movement needs to disperse from D.C. and roll up in their millions, like General Sherman, ruthlessly taking the fight to the Dirty State Capitals, where state legislators have been enjoying a nearly 50-year respite from careful scrutiny and being held responsible for their actions, or inaction, as the case may be.
They got it out of jurisdiction of the Supreme Court, where it should NEVER have been, morally or constitutionally.
It does have a happy ending, The boys were born perfect......My one boy, an All American runner is graduating from USI this fall with and Engineering degree. The other one set records in his High School; with 124 career wrestling wins which still stands. Combined they 16 times. The second boy is taking after his father and will be graduating with an Agri-Business degree this winter.
Our lord can be so monumentally benevolent when we allow him to be.

Roe v. Wade has been overturned! Hooray! This is excellent news! Today, after nearly 50 years, the Supreme Court has finally overturned the infamously bad decision of January 22, 1973. As Justice Samuel Alito writes: “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences.”
Of course, despite the wailing from the pro-abort crowd, today’s ruling will not do away with abortion in America. It will simply return the matter to the states. And so, while many states will shut down the abortion mills, there will still be some leftist states that permit the murder of babies in the womb.
Today’s ruling is a victory for the Tenth Amendment, which protects the rights of the states by limiting the powers of the federal government: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The 1973 Court violated the Tenth Amendment by striking down state laws against abortion.
Now the next decision that should be overturned is Obergefell v. Hodges (June 26, 2015), which struck down state laws stating that marriage is between a man and a woman. That decision has the same “exceptionally weak” reasoning as Roe.
“It is time to heed the Constitution,” Justice Alito writes. Indeed it is! And thus it is time to celebrate today’s decision!
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Supreme Court just rule on it? So their jurisdiction in clear.
I don’t disagree, for the moment, but I don’t think the Left run pro-life agenda will remain in the states. For them their “national”, “federal” moves are not over.
Easy answer: they don't believe it's off the table at all and will demand future justices who would restore Roe.
What gets me is when Biden says the govt can not come between a dr and patient. He shouod be able to prescribe morning after pills.
What about HCQ and ivermectin? They interfered.
To prevent or at least retard the growth of this dangerous population, abortion as a means of birth control must be maintained.
