What was the law before Roe, ladies? Why should anyone state Roe is 'settled law'? What was the stare decisis before Roe? "That which has come before."
The issue properly belonged to the states, did it not? And is there any real argument that the 'penumbra', if it exists, is for each state to decide.
But look how quickly the Dissenters abandoned "stare decisis" -- ONE SENTENCE LATER.

Why would it be struck down? SCOTUS is saying the legislature(s) can do what they want. It isn’t the courts’ business.

Because the decision was 6-3. Roberts went with the majority vote, but he wrote his own opinion, rather than signing on to Alito's opinion.
Yup....If the congress and senate wish to federalize abortion making it legal in all fifty states then abortion becomes a personal and local election debate in every congressional district and state. I predict Pelosi might try to make legilation and that the present congress and senate will demur on the subject until after election day while letting the kerfluffles percolate in the media. Some will try to run on it pro or con. Still the court was right to send it back to the states and the federal legislature. The Roe V Wade Ruling has been a stinker since 1973.
They will make threats to pass something I think in the congress but they’ll hold back on doing something allowing their “violence partners” to punish righteous people to soften the ground(they hope) first.
