Kirkland & Ellis tells Paul Clement and a partner to dump their Second Amendment clients. They refuse and resign.
A 6-3 victory at the Supreme Court vindicating a constitutional right is usually cause for congratulations, but not these days at Kirkland & Ellis, the giant white-shoe law firm. The firm has rewarded partner Paul Clement for his triumph Thursday in the big New York gun-rights case (see nearby) by telling him to drop his gun clients or leave the firm.
As Mr. Clement and his litigation partner, Erin Murphy, explain nearby, they’re leaving the firm rather than dump their clients. That’s the honorable and ethical decision.

Holy crap…principles.
Start your own 2nd Amendment Rights law firm. You now have the creds to start one.
Fired a partner? How does that work?
Who would want to work for a LAW firm that does not believe in the Constitution or the Supreme Court?
Your good news blast for this morning.
Report that firm to the bar and have them disbarred IMMEDIATELY.
They should also be investigated for other legal abuses of the system.
Imagine if a law firm told a lawyer to dump all their transgender clients?
Do you think that law firm would be allowed to stay in business?
We HAVE to fight back against this treachery NOW.
Release the Kraken!
A righteous sense of justice without sympathy or pity.
They are too busy celebrating "Pride Month" and being "woke" to worry about "knuckle dragging gun fetish types".
If they were following a Fascist blueprint for dealing with opposition, they couldn't MORE closely resemble those tactics!!
Thinking that 'Communism' and 'Fascism' are two different words and consequently two different agendas, is a jejune, self-deceit. Their objectives and systems are identical. Both are de humanizing and oppressive agendas for wholesale, totalitarian control of people and governments!
The law firm is even more nefarious than it would seem.
Imagine, the firm sanctioning taking on a 2A Case for plaintiff(s) whose rights are violated and then the lawyers assigned to the case had the effrontery to actually win it.
The firm’s demands on the lawyers are an admission (IMO) that it NEVER intended to faithfully represent the client. IOW, they EXPECTED to lose and get paid a hefty sum while doing it. Unconscionable...
I’d say the two lawyers ought to form their own 2A firm and the first clients would be in a massive lawsuit against the former firm. Class Action....
Contract language.
“Lawyers” after all.
EVERY DEMOCRAT LAWYER.
Kirkland and Ellis is a huge conglomerate law firm with offices worldwide.
I’m sure that Kirkland and Ellis are taking heat from very large Liberal clients for winning this case, so K-E made the decision to either lose huge corporate accounts or lose the second amendment troublemakers.
Easy choice to make for soulless lawyers.
Isn’t Paul Clement a name I recognize from high-profile cases, or SC considerations ?
Well, adios Aholes!
Blessings to them.
corporate clients who believe in the natural right to self defense should fire K&E
