Vega v. Tekoh (21-499)
ALITO, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which ROBERTS, C. J.,
and THOMAS, GORSUCH, KAVANAUGH, and BARRETT, JJ., joined. KAGAN,
J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which BREYER and SOTOMAYOR, JJ.,
joined.
At least one more due today, with any of the following (in reverse seniority order) as lead:
Samuel Alito
Stephen Breyer
Clarence Thomas
John Roberts (because he is Chief Justice)
without reading this, I see it as a remedy case. Miranda violation? (my shorthand), remedy is exclusion of evidence, not (1983) money damages.
A Miranda violation does not give grounds for a Sec. 1983 lawsuit for deprivation of civil rights. WTF?
