My diesel Sprinter does not need DEF nor “diesel” oil.

While I agree we’ll have shortages if prices are not allowed to rise, this is data is misleading because number of refineries doesn’t correspond equally with refining capacity. Reagan’s end of subsidies requiring discounts to small scale refineries led to their economic demise as more efficient refineries beat them in the market.
Diesel consumption is over 50% higher today than 1980. A better comparison would be of refining capacity in 1980 compared to today, not the number of refining sites.

These idiots that worship Gaia above all have no clue as to what is going to happen when they eventually shut down petroleum based transportation.

Where will they get the raw materials for plastics and lubricants? Corn? Soybeans? Rapeseed? Unicorn piss?

Even an all electric auto needs lubricants and plastics.

Plant based plastics are a disaster....................

All it would take is a terrorist attack at the few refineries there are and the whole economy will collapse..................

Here it shows that the refining capacity is about the same as 1982, only a little higher with less than half the original number of refineries of 1982............

Perhaps scarce diesel will allow teachers unions to force Zoom classes that were begun by Covid concerns. Thinking big yellow buses will need to start carrying kids to classes in about another six to eight weeks.

I would not put it past the FBI, the CIA, the Left, or the Democrat Party to do the attacks and then blame it on President Trump. A large part of the people would believe the lie.

Maybe we can go back to coal-burning steam locomotives?

Steam powered this nation in much of the last half of the 19th Century until well into the 20th Century, and in the form of electrical generation, still does.

The question comes in, as what is the heat source that creates this steam from water? Wood is simply not in enough supply, and coal has already been condemned, as “too dirty” (this is not true, “clean coal” is possible). Other hydrocarbon fuels, from natural gas (methane) to refined fractions suitable for internal combustion engines or even gas turbines. Or if people really want to get exotic, a very small thorium-fueled molten salt atomic pile, which generates heat on a continuous basis, even scaled down to fit in an ocean-going vessel or a rail-bound locomotive.

Although the results will be catastrophic, it may be a good thing in the long run.

Because the people will not tolerate it.

When th house is freezing cold, there is nothing to eat in the fridge, the car will not run, there is little on the store shelves....the people will finally realize that Washington DC is controlled by an enemy that must be removed regardless of the cost.

So the only remaining question at that point will be: By what method?

To stay in power, the criminals in DC will not let the economy shut down totally. They will allow us to have just enough to stay alive.

Also it shows that there are 5 ‘IDLE’ refineries, that I assume are reserve and could be brought on line fairly quickly, 6-8 weeks, if an attack were to happen, so the terrorists would have to have a large scale 9-11 level attack at more than 5 sites. ................

The local company came out a couple of days ago to refill my 250 gallon tank at my property with regular gas. He pumped 34 gallons in before he realized he was filling it with diesel. He sucked it all out and gave me a credit for the difference between what he put in and what he sucked out. Turns out I had 55 gallons of gas in it.

Still waiting for the next truck to come out and fill it, though. Meanwhile, my mower takes 5 gallons every time I mow the lawn and it’s only got 2 gallons in the tank. I’ll have to hit the gas station.

I was hoping he would just leave the diesel in and call it a loss and I could pump the thing out and use it for fires and stuff. But I didn’t know there was so much fuel in there. It would have taken a while.

Luckily, I have a cherry ‘05 F350 turbo-diesel that doesn’t require DEF. I only put 30 miles a month or so on it and live in a RV park where everywhere I need to go, I can get there by golf cart.

I have it because in event of a hurricane, it’ll pull a 16k lb. 5th wheel.

“Because the people will not tolerate it.”

As long as the propaganda media isn’t playing in their homes. I am amazed how brainwashed people still are. It’s all Putin’s fault....and they believe it.

Many listen to CNN Etc all day long.

I’ve been saying the same since “the head case” took office. Until people in this country feel real pain nothing changes. Shivering in the dark with and empty belly may wake a few up.
