Yesli Vega is the winner of a Republican Primary Election in Virginia’s 7th District, defeating five other candidates to be the party’s nominee to face incumbent Democrat Abigail Spanberger in the November General Election.

Vega won her home county of Prince William with 52% of the vote. She worked hard to win the western-district counties like Orange (34% of the vote) and Culpeper and Green counties, where she won 32% of the vote in each of the two localities...
Vega was elected to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors in 2019. Since then, she’s been critical of the county’s decision to end the 287(g) program — a partnership with federal immigration and customs enforcement that turned over inmates from the county jail who were suspected of being in the U.S. illegally.
She continues to be called “racist” by representatives of CASA. This Hispanic advocacy group advocates amnesty for all who crossed into the U.S. illegally and has been awarded more than $7 million from the Board of County Supervisors or a new immigration “welcome” center in Woodbridge.
In the days leading up to the Primary Election, Vega, after consulting with her campaign management firm, released a TV ad discussing her brother’s shooting at the hands of an MS-13 gang member in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County in 2005. He survived, but his friend, also shot in the same incident, died.

Looks like a funny thing happened on the Dems’ road to demographic inevitability... Hispanics with jobs and families and businesses and houses swung to the right and started voting GOP.
Yes she can do it. From the map it is outside of NOVA, Richmond and Charlottesville in mostly rural areas...these should be red anyway.
Stuffing these places with immigrants must not be working out as they planned. Border to be closed immediately.

This needs to be the focus going forward. hispanics. Forget about most urban blacks, they’re stuck on the D plantation. Get the rural blacks and hispanics and game over.
A significant percentage of illegal comers are hard working and have a desire to raise a family in peace. The demon rat party abandoned those values long ago and it is not missed by the in comers.

Indeed, conservatives having these victories and snatching these districts away from Democrats is really the only shot we have at doing away with the racially based politics. Notice how the first Mexican born person elected to Congress was relatively very little reported. She was on the “wrong side” for it to be noteworthy. I really wish we had not given the Democrats the opportunity to appoint the “first black woman” to the SCOTUS - not to play racial politics, but to destroy it. Bush should not have chickened out on Janice Rogers Brown simply because Democrats pledged a filibuster. Because we all know to the Left, they are not about promoting minorities, but using them and the narratives they can create as a means to an end (just look at their leaked memos on why they blocked Miguel Estrada). Destroy and take away their narrative.

I have to agree, it sure would be nice to get away from the ‘identity politics’ in all its forms.

I know what you’re saying but … it’s important for Hispanics to see it’s OK to vote Republican - for me she’s a great candidate on the issues - if she can reach out to Hispanics - all the better
Considering the Democrat hopes for their importation of illegals, I think that ethnic Hispanic Americans winning elections is very noteworthy - and not to be ignored just to avoid ‘identity politics’.
