The shooters were BORTAC operators. I.E., some of the Border Patrol’s very highly trained rapid reaction force. Not dissimilar to a Delta Force detachment and due to the fact that BORTAC is often in running gunfights with cartel forces, members are never named if it can be avoided because the cartel would *dearly* like to know who they are and where they live.

Maybe it’s time for your police department to start getting SWAT training even if you don’t have an official team.

It is time for parents to form a SWAT team and train in case the police decide to stay outside.

If the police attempt to stop parents from entering, then shoot the police.

The Head Cop is PSTUPID and a COWARD, so what do we expect the others to be.

Ahh that makes sense.

They say Biden has been a god send to them. They are making billions off of charging immigrants to cross the border.

A better idea would be to get a surplus armored vehicle (they are legal for civilian ownership) and train on it. Police standard loadouts won't stop even an antique tank and a tank with a dozer blade is likely to be able to bash its way into any single story school.

The only reasonable solution.

I predict civil litigation in the future of those coward cops. And if the FBI was anything more than a propaganda arm of the RAT party, said coward cops would be looking at prison time.

As I’ve said before, sovereign and qualified immunities are why that litigation is unlikely to go anywhere.

This is exhibit A for why qualified immunity needs to go the hell away.

another way to look at this is that it’s yet another example of typical civil-service-worker: lazy, indifferent and incompetent.

The small town subspecies is in my experience worse than the usual urban/state/Federal one.

Wow, that’s going to be an EPIC lawsuit

True but not that much money. 17,000 residents probably does not produce that much tax revenue. Insurance companies will pay out policy limits maybe but will put up a serious fight. The school district, police and the city will no longer be able to get insurance at any reasonable cost for the next 20 years.

"My town is to small to have a police department and the best response time I could expect from the county Sheriff is at least 45 minutes to an hour."

True story...a relative of mine owned a store in a VERY small town in South Louisiana (so small as to be unincorporated). Some perps broke in one night to rob the place. The owner had the store wired with a system that broadcast a silent alarm to his house. Owner=ex-marine w. five older teen kids who were all into guns and avid hunters (including the one girl). Owner calls numerous neighbors, who meet outside the store with their hunting guns. Locals surround the store. The perps look out the window and see all these people with guns. THE PERPS CALLED THE SHERIFF (I don't know if the owner had also called or not, but the perps wanted NO PART of the armed locals getting hold of them). This was back in the early 1970's.

Other than Border Patrol, there weren’t any Feds on scene.

Oh, they did something...
They tackled, pepper sprayed, tased and arrested anyone who tried to go in there and do their jobs for them..
Hell, they even arrested a cop that was trying to go in and save his own wife (she died)

There’s the school police, the city police and Uvalde also has a Border Patrol office and a DPS office. It just so happened that all of them became incompetent at the same time?

The incident commander has, well, command. And that was Pete Arredondo.

Don’t forget the US Marshal Service! And the chances of all of those law enforcement entities being inept and incompetent ALL AT THE EXACT SAME TIME are, well...unbelievable!

US Marshals Service drove nearly 70 miles to Uvalde shooting and entered school to assist officers
