I recall I and some buddies found an old log cabin on a hill overlooking a lake. It could only be reached by canoe (in the summer). It was in fair shape, but the roof was starting to go.
We thought it would be cool to keep it as a shelter for people to use, so we repaired the roof.
The Department of Natural Resources noted the repair (someone told them, I am sure), so that winter they came in on snowmobiles and burned it to the ground.
Any bets the guy who reported this is a member of his HOA board?
