Is this another iteration of the famous option. ‘Restaurant fire’?

It was reported to be losing a lot of money to keep it open.
Restaurants in the US that do that, close every three years and then reopen in a new name.
Sinking it a few hundred miles out to sea does seem a bit drastic.
Here is a photoshop from June 1 - showing that HK'ers understand the world of business.

Cruise ships are the equivalent. Eating is a primary life organizing event for folks on cruise ships

When going on cruises, I learned to take clothing one size too large. By the time I got back, even that clothing was snug on me. That's how much food they pack on these ships and they are feeding you from dawn to midnight buffet.
I always wondered why nobody ever thought of having "weight loss" cruises. Where they would take you into the middle of the ocean with no food on board. If you got hungry, you would need to drop a line into the ocean and catch your own fish to eat. People would come back from these cruises much lighter. That I can tell you.

The restaurant business is very difficult with a lot of competition. It’s hard to stay afloat.Difficult to keep your head above water in that business.

A weight-loss cruse could simply be ‘rough-water’ cruise. Sea sickness will take weight right off of you. The smell of cooking food makes it worse.
