Russian forces appeared poised to tighten the noose around thousands of Ukrainian troops near two strategically important cities in the fiercely contested Donbas region of eastern Ukraine on Sunday, mounting an assault on Ukrainian front lines that forced Ukraine to rush reinforcements to the area.
On a day of fighting that put even territory thought to be securely in Ukrainian hands in play, Prime Minister Boris Johnson of Britain and the NATO secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg, warned that the war could grind on for years. They urged Ukraine’s Western allies to settle in for the long haul as Russia moved aggressively to wear Ukraine down through what Mr. Johnson, writing in The Sunday Times of London, called a “campaign of attrition.”
The Russians made an initial breakthrough Sunday in Toshkivka,

“Noose” is a dog whistle on Juneteenth Day!
It is a brutal, stupid, unnecessary war. Everyone involved in bringing it about, and everyone involved in perpetuating it should be ashamed.
And that includes the criminals in the Obama regime who helped orchestrate the 2014 coup-d’état. All of this war’s needless bloodshed is as much on their hands as it is on the hands of Putin and Zelensky.
Putin and Zelensky should be looking for a way to end this way — not win it
Are you a Russian stooge? Idiots like you let German aggression get out of hand in the early 1930’s and World War Two happened.
Sounds like the Neocons have told the NY Times to report ACCURATELY on the war, since the Neocons now understand it’s another lost cause for them.
“Putin and Zelensky should be looking for a way to end this way — not win it”
Ukraine doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. They are surviving through attrition and and billions of dollars in military aid from NATO countries. It is only a matter of time before they surrender or sue for peace. Russia will keep all the territory in their possession which was Putin’s goal from the beginning. Everything else is just posing and propaganda.
JMHO.
They are still willing to fight to the last Ukrainian.
Godwin’s Law.
Are you a neocon, chickenhawk, keyboard warrior?
Russia can’t roll across Europe as they would be stopped by NATO were they to attack a NATO member.
Europe is more than capable of taking care of Russia, time for them to grow up, the U.S. is broke, $30 trillion in debt, we can’t even guard our own borders, have baby food shortages, inflation run amok, etc.
And Americans are past tired of military interventionism.
I agree with you in that there are no clean hands in this war. But that does not mean everyone involved has equal culpability.
I was quite sympathetic to Putin’s security concerns before the invasion. But then it was Putin who started a shooting war by ordering his troops to cross an international border. 95% of the blood is on his hands.
Are you a Globalist/Deep State/WEF/Military Industrial Complex Stooge?
Yeah, pretty much everything you said is 100% true.
“Are you a Globalist/Deep State/WEF/Military Industrial Complex Stooge?”
The Neocons also called Rand Paul a “Putin Sympathizer” or something close to that. They just cannot get through their heads that many conservatives DO NOT support Neocon Wars, be it in Iraq, Syria, Libya, or Ukraine.
Invading people is in very bad taste.
BOOKMARK
Excellent points. They cannot connect the dots.
Telling Europe and America to settle in for the long haul is telling Europe and America to send hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine every year in perpetuity.

Shelling the russian speaking population of the Donbas for 8 years was in far worse taste. They're still doing this crap now in Donestsk. They asked for this war and now they got it good and hard. The Uke elites deserve to be destroyed.
War is the last resort of dispute resolution.
Ukraine should have negotiated.
They still should before the globalists use a false flag to make this a wider war.
I am amazed that we haven’t seen Biden in a green t-shirt yet.
