Former President Donald Trump made it clear that he has not endorsed anyone, including Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), for speaker of the House.
Towards the end of a recent interview, Trump interjected to correct conservative talk show host Wayne Allyn Root after he said Trump endorsed McCarthy for speaker. "No I haven't," Trump said. "No, no, no. I haven't," he added through some crosstalk. "No, I endorsed him in his race. But I haven't endorsed anybody for speaker."

This is exactly how I interpreted his earlier remarks. Others disagreed. Glad Trump himself clarified it.

Some of his Senate enforcements support candidates who have said will vote for Mitch. Trump must love McConnell more than he lets on.
I thought Trump had lost his mind when I heard he’d endorsed McCarthy.

I’ve not heard Trump say either statement.
Apparently you would be much happier with any Democrat than with a Trump endorsement not of your choosing. Or maybe instead of Trump period.

McConnell is the bagmen for those that buy off US GOP Senators. He was installed as GOP Senate Majority Leader to control the purse strings of campaigns.
Most GOP Senators have to bow before McConnell. If they don’t, McConnell will fund others to primary them.
When Trump told the truth about McConnell, that he’s awful and a huge disappointment, it was to let certain powerbrokers know that Trump’s 75+ million strong voterbase is not enamored with McConnell and hence, their bribes and payouts involving McConnell may be a poor investment choice.
McConnell revealed his corruption with the trillions in Green New garbage passed to Biden.
He still needs 70 more votes.
I can agree on speakership. McCarthy is too swampy.
