And if you compute today's inflation adjusted wages to 2008, you will find that wages were higher then compared to today. This is the sophistry of the Dem party that has become disconnected from the people. In reality, people don't care about what gas prices were in 2008, they want today's prices to be lower.

When adjusted for inflation, the 2022 federal minimum wage in the United States is around 40 percent lower than the minimum wage in 1970. Although the real dollar minimum wage in 1970 was only 1.60 U.S. dollars, when expressed in nominal 2022 dollars this increases to 12.04 U.S. dollars. A large difference from the federal minimum wage in 2022 of 7.25 U.S. dollars.

I remember watching it live on TV. Many questions about the shooting, no real answers.

This is something that is not funny. This is a dangerous escalation.

Possibly, but remember the mega Commy FDR gave Eastern Europe and this piece of land to Uncle Joe.

The next U.S. president chose to follow that precedent.

Poop happens, and yes there are consequences when you do not know your history, as this used to be part of Germany

The saddest part of this?

We could drill and produce more than enough oil to fill in the gaps.

But it seems we’d rather empower a Russian tyrant.

Russia does NOT have the ability to take on NATO. And Lithuania is in NATO.

It’s dangerous only to Putin.

I guess it must be time to talk about the recession.

Some interesting reading about Commercial real estate in Ca.

House market - New home sales - builders appears to be cutting prices - not much but some.

I lived in Houston in the 80's when the house I bought in '83 for 90,000 I could not sell for 60,00- by '85. Bush the first - Texas banking issues/Oil cycle bust.

Not sure how much money the current "deep pocket" corporations have - some Dot comes are folding

Interesting article on this subject, Russia has only one option - nuclear, and they are not that stupid, unlike the Iranians

The people/countries who hold US Treasuries get the interest payments. The US national debt is comprised of the publicly held debt and Intra-governmental holdings, which includes the SS and HI trust funds along with the federal government pension funds.

When interest rates are held artificially low by the Federal Reserve, the debt servicing costs are far less. Currently it is about 1%. Historically, they have been around 5%. If that happens, the sh*t hits the fan as a huge percentage of our budget goes to paying interest costs. Pretty soon, debt servicing costs could exceed the amount we spend on defense. So-called mandatory spending comprises two-thirds of the federal budget.

Long time cyclist. Road & Mountain biking.

The shoes Biden was wearing are not the clip on type that can be tricky on dismount. They snap into the pedals and require a twisting motion to disengae.

There’s a photo showing his were just regular flat bottoms.

The fool should have stabilized himself on his left leg first. He didn’t and fell over.

Shows to me he doesn’t ride much as once you take a dive like he did, and I have with clip ons, you remember how to dismount...

Poop happens, and yes there are consequences when you do not know your history, as this used to be part of Germany

Land has switched hands so many times in Europe that it is difficult to keep track. Parts of Poland used to belong to Germany, e.g., Danzig (now Gdańsk). The Russians took part of Karelia from Finland. I could look at the history of every country in Europe and provide you with territorial claims.

Part of the problem with Europe is that what happened hundreds of years ago are like they just happened yesterday. Old feuds never die.

Green New Deal. It is a religion that is divorced from reality. We are now going thru a version of the Cultural Revolution or Pol Pot’s lunacy about sending the intelligentsia into the fields. Logic and reason are thrown out the window. We are like lemmings.

Russia doesn't have the conventional military to take on NATO. It really is not a threat to Europe. But Russia has the nuclear and cyber capability to take on Europe and the US if it feels it has no choice but to act. Wars can happen by accident, the law of unintended consequences.

Why is Lithuania provoking Russia? Are we obligated to defend Lithuania if Russia responds to the provocation with force? They have the headquarters of their Baltic fleet in Kaliningrad along with half a million of its citizens.

And all the while, China is watching, waiting and probably calculating how the Middle Kingdom can rule the world.

On ‘Deface the Nation’ Brennan flipped out over Florida not going with the toddler vaccine scheme. I knew that was coming months back when she was so anxiously grilled Fouci on how soon she could stick her own kids. Anyone want to bet she’s taken them to drag queen events or not?

Agree. This was all a staged photo op. Biden peeled away from the group at the selected location where the press corps and "normal citizens" were waiting. You could hear the citizens telling Joe what a good job he was doing after they picked him up from the fall. In fact, they had to call him back because a "citizen" wanted a selfie.

I participated on close to a dozen Presidential advance teams overseas as the State Department rep. Everything is choreographed when it comes to the movements of the President. No one gets close to him without being vetted. This time, the staged event went horribly wrong as Biden's fall became the story. It reminded me of Jimmy Carter collapsing during a 10K race. Biden just reinforced the public perception that he is weak and frail.

Douglas Macgregor gets it. We are being fed constantly Ukrainian propaganda that the Russians are on the verge of defeat and losing badly. Zelensky says send us more money and weapons. How long will we pay for the salaries and pensions of the Ukrainian government along the costs of their refugees? And how much will we pay to rebuild Ukraine? It seems like the US military industrial complex needs us in a constant state of war. We are the world’s biggest debtor nation.

They are NOT taking on Russia.

They are enforcing the sanctions on prohibited goods.

Lithuania Bans Transit Of Sanctioned Russian Goods To Kaliningrad (panic buying)
