To: Alas Babylon!
Russia doesn't have the conventional military to take on NATO. It really is not a threat to Europe. But Russia has the nuclear and cyber capability to take on Europe and the US if it feels it has no choice but to act. Wars can happen by accident, the law of unintended consequences.

Why is Lithuania provoking Russia? Are we obligated to defend Lithuania if Russia responds to the provocation with force? They have the headquarters of their Baltic fleet in Kaliningrad along with half a million of its citizens.

They are NOT taking on Russia.

They are enforcing the sanctions on prohibited goods.

I have read that Lithuania and Poland are not considered friendlies to the ruskies and they will eat their lunch and treat them as hostiles while they are going easy on the Ukraine due to the neighborly atmosphere they have in the Donbass.Hard to know what is real.
