Change at Any Cost? 40 Per Cent of Le Pen Voters May Vote for the Far-Left this Weekend

Around 40 per cent of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally supporters say they will vote for the far-left NUPES coalition if the only other option is President Emmanuel Macron’s Ensemble Citoyens bloc.

A poll released this week has suggested that as many as 40 per cent of National Rally (RN) voters will be voting for the far-left the New Ecologic and Social People’s Union (NUPES) bloc led by Jean-Luc Melenchon in second-round run-off votes this Sunday for the French parliamentary elections if the race is between NUPES and Macron’s centrist bloc.

The poll, which was released by the firm OpinionWay, suggests that just 11 per cent of National Rally voters would be inclined to vote for Macron’s bloc against the NUPES coalition, broadcaster BFMTV reports.

In last week’s first round of the parliamentary elections, Macron’s Ensemble and NUPES were neck and neck in the total number of votes, fueling speculation that Macron may not be able to win another parliamentary majority, which could hinder his ability to pass legislation during his second term as French president.

Never underestimate the extent of damage caused by emotional voters. It can always be worse.

Sounds like a bunch of “If we can’t win, lets just burn the F’er down instead” voters. While I understand the mentality, (I know even some conservatives in the US that feel the same way.) What these type of voters often forget is, once it’s “burned down”, they still have to live in the smoking rubble.

Melenchon and the French left are incredibly awful. Far worse than Jeremy Corbyn or Bernie Sanders. It would be the end of France and a civil war would be the only answer .

I guess some of you think “a civil war” is like moving to Texas or buying a new car.

Why would you think socialist France is going to have a Civil War if they elect a more left wing government?

Look, it’s France. The constituency for small government secular libertarians like myself is quite small. The candidates I vote for in the first round usually get single digits.
Melenchon’s people aren’t standard issue Socialists. French Socialists are middle class with middle class sensibilities. These are Stalinists and worse, they want to flood the country with 3d Worlders. They advocate a 100% tax rate on people with incomes over 100,000 Euros. They pretty much want to destroy what is left of La France Profonde.
I kid with my Jewish relatives in France about them being Finzi-Continis. But, a leftist regime in France would really be little different from the puppet-state of the Republic of Salo in Fascist Italy.

Why you anyone support weak suck politicians that won’t defend their voter base. Macron deserves to lose.

Don’t do it! You can’t test drive communism and loss of liberty. See American Temporary Tax hikes.

... but are exactly the style and substance of the DNC Democrats. Trumo was a passing few months of sanity to rub it in before the Corrupt Deep and now Surface State pressed the Gestapo/KGB/Stasi button.

Le Pen is not the same as an American conservative, but I would vote for her if I were a Frog. Macron is a WEF Klaus pupil, which is about as bad as you can get.
