Agree. Rand Paul is and has been right on many issues where others sit the sidelines. He has no fear, would resonate with the younger voters and make a great attack dog VP or P.

That the Hill dismisses him is telling.

IMHO

“...Trump-backed candidates have had a mixed record in GOP primaries so far...”

Really??? Trump’s batting average is unbelievably high. The last I read is that among the primary endorsements he has a 100-6 winning record. Hardly a “mixed record.”

Most of Trump’s endorsements have come after the winner was pretty much known. It’s easy to have a 100-6 record betting on football games when you’re allowed to place your bets with two minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Some of Trump’s endorsements have been very consequential — and helped a candidate win who otherwise would have lost. But in those contested races I’d say he’s probably winning 50% of the time at best.

The beltway people--- and Fox News Corp ---hate an outsider like Trump so much they are delusional with rage.

Seven?

There will be two-dozen if Trump doesn’t run.

This early out, no one knows.

Recall when Gov. Scott Walker was the designated Republican, according to the media and pundits. Walker didn’t even enter the presidential fray.

Only two candidates have charisma. Trump and DeSantis. The others are Bob Dole Part II.

“Pence is a spent bullet,” said one conservative leader supportive of Trump. “He was a great vice president, but he has no grassroots support. He is the choice of the donor class.”

That must be the democrat 'donor class'... the same jerk-offs who support Liz Cheney and Adam Whatever his name is...

Oh go to Hell!

Anyone looking at a 110 wins vs. 7 losses record an stating what you just did should be ashamed of themselves.

Former President Trump is still the dominant figure in the Republican Party, but his stranglehold is loosening

What a load of horse manure. There is no evidence of that whatsoever.

"There is one presidential contender, Trump."

Exactly.

Donald Trump is the only candidate in my lifetime to keep almost all of his promises. Most other candidates forget about the people who elected them and go with the Swamp. Could be that even the sainted Ron DeSantis will follow that pattern.

Donald Trump is the one man in the country that will keep the faith.

“If Trump decides to run, many may well step aside and let Trump have the clear path to the 2024 nomination.”

No, THEY WILL step aside or be CRUSHED by the Trump wave.

There will be no serious challengers. Trump will IGNORE any and not debate any.

Why should he? He’s got this wrapped up already and NOBODY wants it more.

He can legitimately state that he won’t run for third term.

If Trump decides to run, many may well step aside and let Trump have the clear path to the 2024 nomination.

Agreed.

That said, if Trump wins the nom, it's possible if not likely that some (cough, cough) GOPer RINOs will do an indie, never Trump run.

For example, I would not be surprised to see Willard and the odious Ms. Cheney team up to mount a spiteful Perot-type candidacy, just to split the GOP vote and hand the election to whomever the Dem candidates might be.

Nothing more than a guess, I'd love to be wrong.

I like the way you think.

You’re a realist.

Yup. Rand Paul is another conservative fighter. As for Pence, that bastard is a backstabbing slimy, POS.
