NEW YORK — A planned concert by John Hinckley Jr., who shot and wounded President Ronald Reagan in 1981, has been canceled even as Hinckley was freed from federal court oversight, the New York City venue that had booked the performance announced.

The Market Hotel in Brooklyn cited “very real and worsening threats and hate” in its announcement on social media Wednesday that it was canceling the July 8 concert.

The now 67-year-old Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the March 30, 1981, shooting of Reagan in Washington.

Reagan was seriously wounded in the assassination attempt, and his press secretary, James Brady, was permanently disabled.

I actually thought that is what this is all about. He should hire Gascon to promote him.

Reagan’s win was a shock, SHOCK to the Left. They swore another Reagan would never win again.

Then came Trump

“very real and worsening threats and hate”

- Celebrating a real threat to kill someone they hate.
- Worried by consequent “threats and hate”.

I’ve heard some of his attempts at music. Very pedestrian.

I’d like to know what low IQ a**hole decided that an insane person could not be guilty of murder. That in itself is insane!

Not really. Carter barely squeaked out a victory over Ford in ‘76. His disapproval rating was 55% in his last year of office. Between gas lines and the Tehran hostage crisis, Reagan’s landslide victory was not surprising to anyone.

That this concert was sold out tells me all I need to know about liberals.

Same here.

I detested the Kennedy's but I would never even think of attending a Sirhan Sirhan concert.

The people holding a ticket for this event are despicable in every way.

Remember when they had to cancel the Lee Harvey Oswald concert?

That danged Jack Ruby spoiled everything.

This concert was SOLD OUT.

Of course; liberals all wanted to cheer for The Man Who Shot Ronald Reagan.

The show should definitely go on, for the “talent” AND the audience. Targets everywhere. I heard about this on the news last night and couldn’t believe it.
