56 percent in new poll believe US is in recession

More than half of Americans in a new poll from The Economist and YouGov believe that the U.S. is currently in a recession.

The survey, published on Monday, found that 56 percent of respondents believed that the country is currently going through an economic recession.

Twenty-two percent of respondents disagreed with the idea that the U.S is in a recession, while 22 percent of those surveyed said they are not sure if a recession is currently happening.

Whether a respondent thought the economy had dipped into a recession largely was dependent on political party.

Seventy percent of respondents who identified as Republicans said they think that the U.S. is currently in a recession, while 8 percent of Republican respondents disagree, according to the poll.

... 45 percent of Democrat respondents said they think that the U.S. is in a recession, while 56 percent of independent respondents agreed.

I'm not going to shut down the country.

I'm not going to shut down the economy.

I'm going to shut down the virus.— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) October 30, 2020

When the Biden regime finally admits we are in a recession, but at least it's not a depression, Trump needs to borrow from this line...

Reagan was right: “Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his.”

With a looming recession because of Joe Biden, Jimmy Carter 2.0 should be concerned. pic.twitter.com/L8b1j3jnqt— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) June 15, 2022

A very odd sort of recession, one not driven by lack of demand and, therefore, experiencing a stunted economic activity. Instead, the supply chains are heavily manipulated and causing a lack of supply which is not meeting demand. Lack of supply or demand still results in a lack of economic activity and a recession.

The establishment of the USA installed Biden as President.(They’ve installed every President since 1789)

Trump was robbed & cheated out of his 2nd term by a bunch of bipartisan anti MAGA scumbags.

Now the USA establishment is rubbing the nose of the bipartisan Biden voter in a pile of crap....everyday....a new pile of democrat crap.

“Bad times” ahead for Trump haters.....makes me happy😀

That happens when a supposedly economic power house like the United States becomes reliant on Asian industry & productivity.

We’ve stretched our natural supply chains(The Western Hemisphere) beyond any viable sustainability.

Ask yourself this question. If these bloated capitalist entities on Wall Street are economic wizards?

Why is there “any” supply chain issue?

Answer: Because many of them our non producers living of cheap money & credit.

Things will be changing for the better after some extreme economic pain.

There are a handful of countries that could be ecomincally self sufficient or almost that way. The USA is one of them. The fact we import any durable goods is crock of s-—.

Whether they believe it or not, the fact is that we are in a recession and headed for a depression if we don’t get rid of the dim witted senile fool and his merry band of clowns.

“There are a handful of countries that could be economically self sufficient or almost that way. The USA is one of them. The fact we import any durable goods is crock of s-—.”

I agree. I’m not sure what “your fix” is with my economic positioning.

I’m a domestic manufacturer who thinks we “can do more” but we “we don’t have to do everything.”

Any billion dollar industry that gets “shrugged off” as beneath Americans, but some grunt over seas is supposed to provide our gravy train economy, is globalists stupidity.

My economic policies are we compete in every field that is essential and we ditch the woke nonessential. Regardless of tariffs, tax policy, Ricardo, Friedman, free trade ideology, environmental zealots, etc.

We find a way to compete regardless of ideology, that’s my position.... Its always been my position when it comes to business.

I’m sure you’ll piss on a potential ally(me) because you’re a “faster now” ideologue instead of being an incremental realist.

P.S. Global economic policies our moving in “our direction.”
Please have some patience, its not going to happen overnight.

“We need a tariff now. No more being a doormat.”

Maybe or maybe not.

The globalists who stretched our supply chains into the “land of the gooks.”(Asia)
IMO should be allowed to be “foisted on their own petard,” regardless of tariff policy.

Think about it. If Wall Street operations can’t exist without cheap gook labor and insignificant tariffs.

What are those bloated behemoths doing with all that capital they’ve acquired?

Answer: Pissing it away on non-producing activities.

Like I told you before, the head winds our moving in our direction regardless of tariff policy.

I prefer not to give them “an out” or scapegoat for their economic stupidity.
