USA Today said it has deleted 23 articles from its website after an investigation found that the reporter who wrote them used fabricated sources.
The journalist who is said to have used the fabricated sources was identified as Gabriela Miranda, a breaking news reporter who resigned from the Virginia-based newspaper weeks ago, the paper confirmed Thursday.
Miranda’s most recent news story for USA Today is dated April 17.
According to the bio on her website, Miranda was assigned to cover “trending news nationwide” while at USA Today.
Before being hired by USA Today, she covered education and the Hispanic community with the Gainesville Times in Georgia.
The Post has reached out to USA Today’s parent company Gannett as well as Miranda seeking comment. Miranda has deleted her LinkedIn account.

But come on. If we scrubbed every article today's "journalists" wrote because they were hooey, there would be a lot of blank news pages.
100%
Back in the day, newspaper editors checked up on the use of sources.
But now, editors are just crappy journalists that have survived by not being caught in a lie.
Brian Williams was her source.
Journalism.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahah!

My wife uses the 8 Ball at work. Whenever someone walks in and gets stupid in their demands she uses it to answer their request. It works pretty well in weeding out the time gobblers. After a few times they get the hint.
Duranty or Cronkite?
Walter Duranty: “Starvation? What starvation? I just enjoyed another sumptuous feast courtesy of Uncle Joe.”
Urinalists can interview their colleagues in the newsroom to get real, unnamed sources. And they often do.
If I understand present woke journalist school philosophy, misrepresenting sources isn’t really a bad thing - because these stories “could be true,” advocacy for oppressed groups is a key function of post-modern journalism, and her stories may still represent a position that is a “lived reality” for various groups in society.
In sum - its OK to lie if its in the service of woke politics.
Cranial skid marks.
Publishers of almost every newspaper should just fire all their editors and “journalists” now for phony baloney sources and stories—save themselves a lot of wasted time.
It is hardly an improvement is they have a legitimate “climate scientist” who makes insane claims, or a real “source in the administration” that lies about—well—everything.
Is John L Lewis her Dad???
Only older Freepers will know who I am talking about.
I disagree. She didn’t get fired for making up sources. That’s the new normal. She did something else and that was just the excuse. That’s how today’s workplace rolls.
