Texas Sen. John Cornyn is warning that time and policy constraints are putting pressure on negotiators who have yet to lock in on a final deal on legislation responding to recent gun massacres – and that Democrats have 'run out of rope.'
He made the comments Thursday after earlier saying the most contentious remaining issues related to state 'red flag' laws and closing the so called 'boyfriend loophole' for gun restrictions on people that currently apply to abusive spouses.
'The challenge, of course, as you know, is to translate those principles into text,' Cornyn told conservative host Hugh Hewitt on his radio show Thursday.

I think he’s not up until 2026.

So once again left standing at the alter with no one to compromise with?

I think you are correct-there has to be a way to have him removed from his position legally-we should find it-the sooner the better...

“numerical limits are the key.”
No. The “key” is not having laws that use secret court hearings that order our constitutional rights.
There are better and worse versions of the red flag laws. There are no acceptable versions.

And then he used a McConnell standard legislative tactic.
- Agree to negotiations on a hot button issue that becomes red hot due to current events
- Schedule conferences to work out the details
Smack down Leftist draconian proposals Funnel the bill through CoC*-controlled committees *Chamber of Commerce
Announce negotiations have run out of time Allow a designated RINO to blow up the conservative agenda. - Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
The man knows the system.

"There are better and worse versions of the red flag laws. There are no acceptable versions." Absolutely correct. Such laws turn "innocent until PROVEN guilty" into "GUILTY until you prove yourself innocent".
