Tanglewood drops vaccination proof, masking requirements ahead of 2022 summer season

Tanglewood says visitors to the famed Berkshire County concert grounds won’t be required to show proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test result, or wear masks this summer.

Tanglewood is encouraging fans to hang on to their tickets until further information is available about a rescheduled performance after Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band cancelled their planned June 17th concert due to COVID-19.

The cancellation comes as the famed Berkshire County venue says guests won't be required to show proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test result, or wear masks this summer.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra says masks would only be recommended for indoor use in spaces like Ozawa Hall and the Linde Center for Music and Learning.

Yep. Just a slight increase and it will go back in place.

Music performance Marblehead MA on June 10.
Masks and vaxx required due to regulation of the church holding it. Band members did not
wear masks, no big deal.
Furry convention in Pitt July 4 weekend.
Must be vaxxed and wear masks tho any
outdoor events may be maskless.

On Twitter:
“Ridiculous that conventions are still requiring masks. Nobody wants to go to a social event where you can’t see people’s faces. It’s just virtue signaling.”

“Maybe 4U its meaningless “virtue signalling” because u’re bored of masking but 4me its a health precaution because TH VIRUS IS STILL HERE &its not a bad idea to care about others, not just yourself.”
(The last tweet by author of a book on furry fandom who interviewed me for it)

“Mad over a mask? Do you want people to get sick? (Don’t answer that. I know what you’re gonna say)”

“Come to Perth WA (Australia)
We ended our stupid mask/vaccine mandates and are free and happy with hardly any cases and cases lowering everyday.”

Visiting Philly right now.
Still wearing masks:
Food service worker at The Bourse.

..that’s about it. Meanwhile at various
hospital and clinic visits, masks still required. Seeing podiatrist? Mask.
Genetics counselor? Mask.

Interesting MA dropping the COVID rules.

Tanglewood is in western MA, full of Vermont type hippies and long hairs.

The virus will never go away, they still think if we all just masked up it will make it go away.

Even last year, Mass had no restrictions after mid/late May 2021, but they still kept the mask mandate AND put in their own jab mandate and capacity limits.

I had bumblebees coming into my backyard so I built a chainlink fence to keep them out.

As a contrast, I went to the local hospital/medical center two weeks ago - no mask required, and most of the staff didn’t either. Of course, this is Georgia. Everybody but Atlanta stopped playing a long time ago.

Three weeks before the mask mandate was dropped on planes I took mine off ten minutes into the flight and forgot to put it back on.

Haven’t touched one since. I refuse
