Myanmar's junta said Friday it would carry out its first executions since 1990 by hanging four people, including a former lawmaker from the party of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi and a rights activist.
Myanmar is one of several dozen countries, including the United States, China, Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia that continue to put prisoners to death, using methods including beheading, electrocution, hanging, lethal injection and shooting.
In a recent report, Amnesty International noted an "alarming" increase in the recourse to the death penalty in Myanmar, which it attributed to cases of civilians being transferred to military or special tribunals that offer no right of appeal.
At least 579 people were put to death in eighteen countries in 2021, 96 more than in the previous year, the rights group said.

And, man, they are really dead after that.
in America, we allow the condemned too many appeals, which results in the condemned not being executed swiftly.
the cndemned man may by use of appeals, steal 20 years froom the e ecutioner, import a prolonnged suffering to the victims’ family, and all at taxpayer expense.
We don’t execute people for political dissent. Yet.

... and dogs. Don’t forget the dogs.

The difference is they weren’t executed by the Mexican government. 0 government executions in Mexico. Would private executions be lower if the Mexican government actually did its job, which is to keep the public safe, and put to death a tiny sliver of the murderers in its midst? We’ll probably never find out.
Stateside, the private execution number for 2021 was 21,570.
Number of government executions? 11

That is literally 1 government execution for every 2000 private executions.
Does Amnesty distinguish between death penalties that are proportionate (for example, to murderers) and those that are not (for example, to drug offenders)?
Okay.
“using methods including beheading, electrocution, hanging, lethal injection and shooting... and dogs.”
Now they are really really really dead. Not mostly dead. But most sincerely dead.

Well, it does have a drug problem. But it’s all done through doctors. The govt is fine with it then. They get their cut, all above board.

Do they smoke a lot of weed at Amnesty International?
And you know this how?
Is a Myanmar beheading referred to as a “Burma Shave”?
Shave and a head cut, two bits!
Thats really saying something, considering the muslims.
