I doubt the juveniles aimed at the basketball players. I’m sure the juveniles knew, as most white people do, to not antagonize the protected-class of people. Ever.
Sorry, but he was very stupid to do this. And in fact his idea of fun…cruising around shooting his gel gun at strangers … is a little weird.
The Uvalde killer used to drive around with a friend shooting a BB gun at strangers on the street.

Had a punk (not cool, listen to the Ramones/Pistols punk, but obnoxious little turd punk) white boy at the day treatment center where I worked. Kid grew up in the ghetto, talked ghetto-ese, acted like a gangster, but the minute he dropped the “N-bomb” on his homies, it went dead silent.
They kicked his butt just outside the perimeter of our property and left him unconscious in the street. Cars drove around him. I think someone called the cops, but who knows.
My phone wasn’t working at the time.
Seriously, the kid deserved it.
Same kid was killed two years later during lockdown. Once again, he thought he was a lot slicker than the punks he was hanging with.
