Nope. Sorry. They'll go with somebody "safe," who will be credibly reported to get 81+ million votes, and "win" the election. ("Credibly" is such a malleable word -- it all depends on who the speaker believes, and who the speaker trusts. In this case the speaker, as always, is the DNC's propaganda bureaus.)
I suspect it would be Kamala Harris. "It's her turn." But even for the propaganda bureaus, that wouldn't be credible. There's only so much bullshit you can shovel without getting covered in it.
Liz Warren, Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg are all far more credible, particularly with a push by the propaganda bureaus to make them a lot more visible next year. Each of these checks a box on the Holy List of Diversity. Newsom doesn't.
In the eyes of their base, they got away with running a non-diversity candidate in 2020, simply because the base hated Trump so badly that they were willing to put up with a late-70s, heterosexual white male, as long as his name wasn't Trump.
This time, they wouldn't get away with it. And they know it.
Joe needs to say he’s not running for re-election, but still serve out his term. If he were to resign, then Kamala becomes the incumbent president going into 2024, and how would the powers that be dislodge the incumbent president seeking election in 2024? That would get messy.
