Nicaragua authorizes entry of Russian troops, planes, ships

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The government of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega has authorized Russian troops, planes and ships to deploy to Nicaragua for purposes of training, law enforcement or emergency response.

In a decree published this week, and confirmed by Russia on Thursday, Ortega will allow Russian troops to carry out law enforcement duties, “humanitarian aid, rescue and search missions in emergencies or natural disasters.”

The Nicaraguan government also authorized the presence of small contingents of Russian troops for “exchange of experiences and training.”

Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, told the Russian news outlet Sputnik that the measure was “routine.”

“We are talking about a routine — twice a year — procedure for the adoption of a Nicaraguan law on the temporary admission of foreign military personnel to its territory in order to develop cooperation in various areas, including humanitarian and emergency responses, combatting organized crime and drug trafficking,” Zakharova said.

If you don’t see the outright blatant hypocrisy in all of this then bad on you.

Am I hypocritical when I say that what Russia is doing (invading a neighboring country, devastating its cities, and grabbing its territory for absorption into the homeland) is not at all comparable to what the U.S. has done in the past?

The fact that you can only dream up a HYPOTHETICAL scenario (Russia stationing nuclear rockets in Canada or Mexico - something that has NO CHANCE of happening in real life) and wield it as a Strawman INSTEAD of pointing to actual past behavior of the U.S. clearly demonstrates that no valid comparison is possible.

In short: The U.S. has never done anything as heinous as Russia has done in invading Ukraine - hence it is impossible to legitimately criticize American patriots decrying Russia's current behavior as "hypocritical."

The US is down there in Brazil meddling for the WEF/NWO with the country of Brazil in order to dump Bolsonero and replace him with a US backed marxist puppet jackass installed by none other than Vicky Nuland.. We meddled in Ukraine Pakistan Libya and God knows where else but we expect other countries to not meddle in their own interests?

This is not an attempt at anything except to solicit your answer to the question, what would your response be if Russia or China placed missiles on our border with Mexico and Canada? It’s that simple. You don’t seem to want to answer. Why?

You are invalidly attempting to establish a moral equivalence between what Russia is doing now (the heinous invasion of and land-grab in Ukraine) with something that the U.S. might do (and it's a pretty fantastic hypothetical at that).

If you want to label me a hypocrite, you'll have to point to something that the U.S. has done that is at all comparable to the large-scale invasion, devastation, and land-grab currently being perpetuated by Russia.

The invasion of Iraq was comparable. Sorry, it is.

The invasion of Iraq was comparable. Sorry, it is.

You mean after Iraq invaded Kuwait? When we liberated Kuwait?

Remind me: Did we then absorb any Iraqi territory and make it into the 51st State?

Comparable number of dead American soldiers?

Are you seriously comparing the wholesale destruction currently being wrought in Ukraine by Russia and Russia's planned absorption of Ukrainian territory with America's silly little subterfuges and intrigues?!

Are you seriously trying to establish a moral equivalency here?

I guess all the dead people and the freakin’ “shock and awe” in those countries were nothing? Those countries have been totally decimated and still have never recovered because our whole presence accomplished nothing.

You really are a sick neocon.

Oh, and yes I am seriously establishing an equivalence because none of it is about morality. Neocons like to pretend their little skirmishes are all moral. Anything they do to other countries is always deemed justified and peddled to the populace as moral or necessary for our safety.

Many American troops have died and been maimed in those little “subterfuges and intrigues” you call them. But that was nothing to you I guess. Ukraine has always been a sewer for neocons who have no respect for those people other than to constantly go over there and try to bait them into attacking Russia in order to start a war for their own gain. Ask Lindsay, he fully participated in that and the fomenting of ISIS.

You are delusional!

-Iraq
-Afghanistan

Where were you when we invaded these two sovereign, independent countries for our own perverse reasons? Not only did we invade these countries but we did so at the price of thousands and thousands of American lives. And what exactly were those lives sacrificed for and what exactly was accomplished by giving of those American lives?

What I think you meant to say is “blind” and self-serving American patriotism.

Those two countries are just two of many, many examples that have occurred in the recent past.

You are still delusional!

You refuse to answer the question. I get it. And I thought you were an American patriot!

We only risked annihilation of our planet in the Cuban missile crisis. That’s all. WE LAUNCHED THAT EFFORT — not the Russians! You now demean the Russians for the same exact reason that we instigated that crisis for in 1961. The crisis we instigated then was the same precise reason Russia launched their special military operation — protection of a nation. This time it was theirs — the last time it was ours.

By the way, is your last name Biden??

Coalition forces, total no. killed in Iraq from 2003 to 2011: 4,825 (4,507 U.S., 179 U.K., 139 other)

Coalition forces, total no. killed in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2021: 3,576 (2,420 U.S., 465 U.K., 159 Canada, 89 France, 62 Germany, 53 Italy, 337 Others)

COMBINED, fewer Coalition Forces soldiers died in Iraq and Afghanistan over a twenty-year period than Russian soldiers in the FIRST MONTH of the Russo-Ukrainian War of 2022!

Q.E.D.!

The ultimate failure of those military engagements to fully achieve the noble goals of the American-led coalitions is irrelevant.

So America is at fault - or at least bears the lion's share of the fault - because the world teetered on the brink of nuclear annihilation for approx. three decades?

The Soviets weren't at all responsible?!

You totally miss the point!

Mr. Dense, the point is in the examples given we invaded two sovereign, independent countries which is exactly what you seem to be castigating the Russians for. We did that. We invaded independent sovereign countries for our own so-called national security reasons. Same as the Ruskies.

Was your son one of the 4825 slaughtered? You seem to think it is okay for us to send our sons to die for a make-believe cause like Iraq for some twisted reason. Well, I sure don’t.

Furthermore, exactly how do you know how many Russians were killed? Have you got a hotline to Putin it are you getting your news from CNN, NYT, WAPO, MSNBC, etc?

“So America is at fault - or at least bears the lion’s share of the fault - because the world teetered on the brink of nuclear annihilation for approx. three decades?”

I never said that America was at fault — those are your words!

In the three decades you describe the Cuban Missile Crises was the closest we came to someone pulling the trigger and nuking our planet back to the stone age. That’s a fact.

So, why did we do that? We did that because an independent, sovereign country made a decision that we believed was a threat to our national security. Get it? A threat to our national security.

Haven’t we heard that before? That is precisely why Russia decided to invade Ukraine. This was after the US along with our pawn, NATO, refused to negotiate and after NATO doubled in size over 20 plus years, placed missiles in Russian border countries, launched a CIA covert operation for regime change (Maidan revolution), and refused to implement two treaties which the west was a part of to stop the Ukrainian attacks and slaughter of Russian speakers/natives in the east of Ukraine that killed 14,000 of their own citizens.

Russia is doing the same as we did in 1961 — protecting their own. We could have easily stopped any of this by negotiating — which you and your president Biden refused to do.

So because of another failed government effort, we now get to pay the price of a failing economy and a 40-year high in inflation. All of this while we drive countries like Russia, India, China, and a host of others to align against us which will enable them to overtake us economically and militarily.

Keep supporting your deluded cause. It is sure working out very well for us. Right? You may like the results. Well, you can have the results! I sure don’t want them.

Factually incorrect!

NATO did not double in size in 20 years! Since 1989 (the fall of the Wall), NATO has increased in size by a miniscule amount, and in population by only a small extent (less than 10%).

Further, NATO has stationed NO nuclear missiles in countries bordering Russia (unless you count the territorial waters of Alaska).

On the other hand, Russia HAS stationed nuclear missiles in countries bordering NATO!

You are obviously betting on no one bothering to fact-check your inaccuracies!

What an imbecile!  Do you expect anybody to believe your crazy rants?

I'm not sure where you went to school but you might check on a refund, 'cause they didn't learn you how to count!

Let's see Mr. Fact Checker.

1998 = 16 NATO Countries

2020 = 30 NATO Countries

87.5% INCREASE!
